Alpha tocopherol acetate

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 100 mg of α-tocopherol of acetate (200 mg of 50% of Solutio oleosa of α-tocopherol of acetate) in 1 capsule.

Excipients: sunflower oil.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Drug fills shortage of vitamin E. Has antioxidant activity. Participates in processes of fabric metabolism, prevents hemolysis of erythrocytes, prevents increase in permeability and fragility of capillaries, dysfunction of seed tubules and testicles, placentae, normalizes reproductive function. Interferes with development of atherosclerosis, degenerative and dystrophic changes in a cardiac muscle and skeletal muscles. Improves food and sokratitelny ability of a myocardium, reduces consumption by an oxygen myocardium. Slows down free radical reactions, prevents formation of the peroxides damaging cellular and subcellular membranes. Stimulates synthesis gem and gemsoderzhashchy enzymes - hemoglobin, a myoglobin, tsitokhrom, a catalase, peroxidase. Improves tissue respiration, stimulates protein synthesis (collagen, fermental, structural and sokratitelny proteins of skeletal and unstriated muscles, a myocardium), protects vitamin A from oxidation. Slows down oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids and selenium (a component of microsomal system of transfer of electrons). Inhibits cholesterol synthesis.

Pharmacokinetics. At intake about 50% of the accepted drug dose are slowly soaked up, the maximum level in blood is created in 4 h. Absorption requires availability of bile acids. It is deposited in adrenal glands, a hypophysis, seed plants, fatty and muscular tissue, erythrocytes, a liver. Is exposed to metabolism and it is allocated from an organism (in an invariable look and in the form of metabolites) with bile (over 90%) and urine (about 6%).

Indications to use:

Hypovitaminosis, muscular dystrophy, degenerative changes of the copular device (including a backbone), joints and muscles, a posttraumatic and postinfectious secondary myopathy, a dermatomyositis, a condition of reconvalescence after the diseases proceeding with a feverish syndrome, a dysmenorrhea, the menacing abortion, a climax, hypofunction of gonads at men, an asthenic and neurotic syndrome, a neurasthenia at overfatigue, a lupus erythematosus, a scleroderma, a pseudorheumatism, a myocardial dystrophy, a spasm of peripheral vessels, atherosclerosis, a hypertension, cardiovascular insufficiency, stenocardia, liver diseases, a dermatosis, trophic ulcers, psoriasis, advanced age, a hypotrophy.

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is appointed inside the adult in doses of 100 — 300 mg (1 — 3 capsules) in days.

At diseases of nervnomyshechny system (muscular dystrophy, an amyotrophic side sclerosis and so forth) appoint 100 mg a day (1 capsule) within 1 — 2 months. Repeated courses are conducted in 2 — 3 months.

To men at disturbances of a spermatogenesis and potentiality appoint 100 — 300 mg a day (1 — 3 capsules) in combination with hormonal therapy within a month.

At the menacing abortion appoint 100 mg a day (1 capsule) within 7 — 14 days.

At usual abortion and deterioration in pre-natal fetation appoint 100 mg a day (1 capsule) in the first 2 — 3 months of pregnancy daily or every other day.

At diseases of peripheral vessels, a myocardial dystrophy, atherosclerosis appoint 100 mg a day (1 capsule) in combination with vitamin A. Course 20 duration — 40 days, in 3 — 6 months it is possible to repeat a course of treatment.

At diseases of skin appoint 100 mg a day (1 capsule) within 20 — 40 days.

Features of use:

Use of drug at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation (breastfeeding) according to indications, under control of the doctor is possible. At routine purpose of vitamin E newborns should compare advantage with potential risk of emergence of a necrotic coloenteritis.

At newborns with low body weight developing of hypovitaminosis E in connection with low-permeability of a placenta is possible (blood of a fruit contains only 20-30% of vitamin E of its concentration in mother's blood). The diet with the increased content of selenium and sulfur-containing amino acids reduces the need for vitamin E.

Drug does not influence ability to control of vehicles and the machine equipment.

Side effects:

At administration of drug there can be allergic reactions. In case of prolonged use of high doses of α-tocopherol of acetate dispeptic frustration, a creatinuria are possible. At emergence of side effects a dose of drug it is necessary to reduce or cancel drug.

Interaction with other medicines:

Strengthens effect steroid and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, cardiac glycosides, reduces toxicity of the last, and also vitamins A and D.

Contraindications:

Contraindications are: hypersensitivity, cardiosclerosis, myocardial infarction.

With extra care apply at the increased risk of development of thromboembolisms.

Overdose:

It is shown by a creatinuria, diarrhea, pains in epigastriums, decrease in working capacity.

Storage conditions:

In the place protected from moisture and light at a temperature from 8 °C to 15 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity 2 years. Not to use after the period of validity specified on packaging.
