Clotrimazolum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 10 mg of Clotrimazolum in 1 ml of solution.

Excipients: isopropyl myristate, alcohol.

Antifungal broad-spectrum agent.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Antifungal broad-spectrum agent from group of derivatives of an imidazole. The mechanism of action is connected with disturbance of synthesis of ergosterol, is a part of a cellular membrane of mushrooms that causes change of its structure and properties and leads to a lysis of a cell, and also to braking of synthesis of nucleic acids and polysaccharides. Causes also increase in permeability of a phospholipidic cover of liposom, cytoplasm vacuolation, decrease in quantity of ribosom. In low concentration has a fungistasis on dermatophytes (types of Epidermophyton spp., Trichophyton spp., Microsporum spp.), barmy fungi (sorts Candida, Cryptococcus neophormans, Malassezia furfur), Aspergillus spp. and mold, dimorphous fungi (Blastomyces dermatidis, Coccoidioides immitis, Sporotrichum schenckii). Shows antibacterial properties concerning streptococci and stafilokokk, and also trichomonads.

Pharmacokinetics. At topical administration Clotrimazolum is badly soaked up from mucous membranes and skin and has practically no systemic action.

Indications to use:

- the fungal infections of skin and mucous membranes caused by dermatophytes, mold and drozhzhepodobny mushrooms (a dermatomycosis, a dermatofitiya, a trichophytosis, an epidermophitia, a microsporia, a candidiasis, stomatitis, an interdigital fungal erosion);
- a chromophytosis, multi-colored deprive also an erythrasma;
- the mycoses complicated by a secondary pyoderma;
- at complex treatment of a candidosis vulvovaginitis and trichomoniasis.

Route of administration and doses:

Medicine is sprayed on affected areas of skin and mucous membranes, pressing a nozzle sprayer, in the quantity sufficient for their moistening 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment averages about 4 weeks, at disappearance of clinical displays of a disease it is reasonable to continue therapy within 2 weeks. If necessary the course of treatment can be repeated.

At complex treatment of a candidosis vulvovaginitis and trichomoniasis medicine is sprayed on area of outside genitalias.

Features of use:

This medicine is not intended for use in ophthalmologic practice.

Lack of clinical improvement in 4 weeks from an initiation of treatment can be the cause for carrying out a microbiological research for the purpose of specification of the diagnosis and a possible role of other activators.

In case of development of irritation or symptoms of hypersensitivity treatment it is necessary to stop and appoint the corresponding corrective therapy.

At treatment of genital pathology (a candidosis vulvovaginitis and trichomoniasis) it is necessary to provide treatment and the sexual partner.

Use of medicine in the period of periods is not reasonable.

Pregnancy and lactation. Negative influence on a fruit at the women treated by Clotrimazolum was not noted, however use of medicine for pregnant women should be limited (use in the I trimester of pregnancy in connection with existence at embriotoxity Clotrimazolum is not recommended).
It is necessary to be careful during use of medicine for the women nursing.

Influence on ability to manage transport and to perform the works requiring special attention. Clotrimazolum taking into account a route of administration does not influence ability to manage transport and to perform the works requiring special attention.

Side effects:

In rare instances local allergic reaction, burning, an itch, temporary irritation in the place of use of medicine can be shown. Very seldom can arise: an erythema, pour hypostasis, urticaria, an epidermis peeling.

Interaction with other medicines:

Clotrimazolum can oppress action of other antifungal means of topical administration. Propyl ether of p-hydroxybenzoic acid in high concentration strengthens antifungal action of Clotrimazolum. Reduces activity (mutually) half-yen antibiotics (B Amphotericinum, nystatin) and a natamitsin.

Contraindications:

- hypersensitivity to Clotrimazolum and auxiliary components of a dosage form;
- pregnancy (I trimester).

Storage conditions:

To store in the place protected from light at a temperature not above +25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. Period of storage 2 years.
