General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: амизон (энисамиум iodide);

1 tablet contains an amizon (энисамиум iodide) 125 mg (0,125 g) or 250 mg (0,25 g);

excipients: lactoses monohydrate, cellulose microcrystallic, povidone, sodium of a kroskarmeloz, calcium stearate;

cover: OPADRY II Clear 85F19250 (polyethyleneglycol, polysorbate 80, polyvinyl alcohol, talc).

Pharmacological properties:

Amizon – derivative isonicotinic acid. Carries out the inhibiting influence on influenza viruses, has interferonogenny properties, increases resistance of an organism to viral infections, has antiinflammatory, febrifugal and analgetic action.

Antiviral action of Amizon is connected with his direct influence on influenza virus hemagglutinins owing to what virion loses ability to join target cells for further replication.

Antiinflammatory action is result of stabilization of cellular and lizosomalny membranes, delays of degranulation of basophiles, antioxidant action, normalization of level of prostaglandins, cyclic nucleotides and energy balance in the inflammation center. Febrifugal properties of this means are caused by influence on the temperature-controlled centers of a brain. The Analgeziruyushchy effect of drug is carried out through a reticular formation of a brainstem.

Amizon increases persistent immunity by increase in level of endogenous interferon in a blood plasma by 3-4 time, a lysozyme and increase in an antiserum capacity to causative agents of infections, and also cellular – due to stimulation of functional activity of T lymphocytes and macrophages. This means is the powerful inductor of endogenous interferon.

After oral administration Amizon quickly gets to blood, its maximum concentration in blood is observed in 2-2,5 hours after reception. The elimination half-life makes 13,5-14 hours, is metabolized in a liver, but quickly brought out of fabrics (the elimination half-life makes 2-3 hours). It is brought out of an organism for 90-95% with urine in the form of metabolites.

Indications to use:

Treatment and prevention of diseases: flu and respiratory viral infections; infectious mononucleosis; measles, rubella, chicken pox, parotitis infection; benign inoculation reticulosis (disease of cat's scratch); nonspecific chemoprophylaxis of hepatitises A, E;
as a part of complex therapy: viral, virus and bacterial and bacterial pneumonia and quinsies; skin and joint form of an erizipeloid; meningitis and encephalomeningitis of a virus etiology; herpes infection; hepatitises A, E; pain syndromes at osteochondrosis, hernias of intervertebral disks, arthritises, neuralgia.

Route of administration and doses:

Amizon to accept inside after food, without chewing. The maximum single dose – 1000 mg, daily – 2000 mg. The recommended course of treatment depending on weight and an etiology of a disease – from 5 to 30 days.

Flu and other respiratory viral infections

Treatment. To adults and children 12 years are more senior appoint 250-500 mg 2-4 times a day for 5-7 days; to children from 6 to 12 years appoint 125 mg 2-3 times a day for 5-7 days.

Prevention. To adults and children 16 years – on 250 mg a day for 3-5 days, further – on 250 mg of 1 times in 2-3 days for 2-3 weeks are more senior; children are 6-12 years old –   on 125 mg every other day for 2-3 weeks; children are from 12 to 16 years old – on 250 mg every other day for 2-3 weeks.

At meningoentsefalita the adult Amizon appoint 250 mg 3 times a day for 10 days.

For treatment of measles, a rubella, chicken pox to adults and children 16 years ‑ on 500 mg 3 times a day are more senior; children are 6-7 years old ‑ on 125 mg 3 times a day; children are 8-12 years old ‑ on 125 mg 4 times a day; to children of 13-14 years – on 250 mg 3 times a day; to children of 14-16 years ‑ on 250 mg 4 times a day.

For treatment of a parotitis infection by the adult and to children 14 years are more senior appoint on 250 mg  4 times a day at moderately severe diseases and on 500 mg 3 times a day at a heavy current for 6-7 days; to children of 12-14 years appoint 250 mg 3-4 times a day for 6-7 days.

For nonspecific chemoprophylaxis of a parotitis infection by the adult appoint  250 mg 2 times a day for 10-14 days.

At a moderately severe infectious mononucleosis to adults and children 12 years – on   250 mg of Amizon 3-4 times a day are more senior and children are from 6 to 12 years old – 125 mg 3 times a day. At a heavy current the first 2-3 days to adults and children are more senior than 12 years – 1500-2000 mg a day, children are from 6 to 12 years old – to 1000 mg a day. After achievement of clinical effect the dose can be reduced twice.

For treatment of a benign inoculation reticulosis by the adult and to children 14 years are more senior appoint 250 mg 3-4 times a day at moderately severe and on 500 mg 3 times a day at a severe form of a disease. To children at the age of 6-9 years ‑ on 125 mg 3 times a day; to children of 10-14 years ‑ on 125 mg 4 times a day.

At a skin and joint form of an erizipeloid the adult – on 500 mg 3 times a day for 7-14 days.

Viral hepatitis And, E. V of complex therapy by the adult – on 250 mg 3 times a day for the first 5 days. For nonspecific chemoprophylaxis by the adult – on 250 mg 3 times a day.

In complex therapy of pneumonia by the adult – on 250 mg 3 times a day for 10-15 days.

In complex therapy of quinsies by the adult – on 250 mg 3-4 times a day for 5 days at moderately severe diseases; on 500 mg 3-4 times a day for 7 days at a severe disease.

At pain syndromes the adult apply 250-500 mg 3-4 times a day.

Features of use:

Appropriate security measures at use

It is necessary to appoint with care drug to patients with diseases of a thyroid gland, especially at a hyperthyroidism.

Drug contains lactose therefore to patients with rare hereditary forms of intolerance of a galactose, insufficiency of lactase or a syndrome of glyukozo-galaktozny malabsorption it is impossible to use drug.

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast. Drug is contraindicated for use in the I trimester of pregnancy. Use in II and the III trimester of pregnancy is possible only on doctor's orders. The uses given relatively to the women nursing no.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms. Administration of drug Amizon does not influence ability to manage motor transport or work with other mechanisms.

Children. Drug in this dosage form is not used for treatment of children up to 6 years.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions: hypersensitivity reactions, including skin rashes, a small tortoiseshell, a Quincke's disease, an itch.

From system of digestion: dryness and bitter smack in a mouth, swelled a mucous membrane of an oral cavity, hypersalivation, coloring of language in yellow color, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, an abdominal pain, weight in right hypochondrium, diarrhea, abdominal distention.

From respiratory system: asthma, irritation of a throat.

In the post-registration period in isolated cases the following side reactions were noted: headache, dizziness, weakness, fluctuation of arterial pressure.

Interaction with other medicines:

Amizon strengthens action antibacterial and immunomodulators. The combination of this drug with ascorbic acid and other vitamins is reasonable. Also Amizon it is possible to appoint along with use of recombinant interferon.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drugs of iodine and to other components of drug. Existence of allergic reactions irrespective of the allergen nature in the anamnesis. Crushing organic lesions of a liver and kidneys.

Overdose:

About cases of overdose by Amizon it was not reported. At overdose strengthening of manifestations of side reactions is possible: coloring of mucous membranes in brown color, vomiting, an abdominal pain and diarrhea. Development of hypostases, an erythema, ugrepodobny and violent rashes, fevers can take place.

Treatment: gastric lavage, symptomatic treatment.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity 3 years. Not to use drug after the termination of the period of validity specified on packaging. To store in the place protected from light at a temperature not over 25 ºС. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
