Indometacin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: Indometacin - 5% or 10%.
Excipients: макроголь 400, carbomer, propylene glycol, sodium benzoate, alcohol.

Pharmacological properties:

Indometacin renders antiinflammatory, anesthetizing, and antiedematous action. At external use eliminates pain, reduces hypostasis and an erythema, is promoted reduction of morning constraint and a swelling by a joint, promotes increase in volume of movements.

Indications to use:

RHEUMATOLOGY: rhematoid polyarthritis; acute, chronic, muscular and joint rheumatism; other inflammatory diseases of joints with degenerative changes an osteoarthritis, an osteoarthrosis, a coxarthrosis, a spondylarthrosis; other arthroses and arthritises, bursitis, tendinitis, tendovaginitis, synovitis, gout; Bekhterev's disease; acute inflammatory diseases of soft tissues.
NEUROLOGY: backbone pains, neuralgia, mialgiya, diskopathy, neuritis, plexitis, radiculitis, etc.;
SURGERY AND TRAUMATOLOGY: traumatic inflammation of soft tissues and musculoskeletal system; postoperative hypostases without disturbance of integrity of skin.
ANGIOLOGY: superficial thrombophlebitises, limfangita.

Route of administration and doses:

Gel is rubbed a thin layer in sick body parts: 5% 3-4 once a day; 10% 2-3 once a day. The single dose for adults makes 4 - 5 I eat the gel which is squeezed out from a tube, and for children 14 years are more senior - 2 - 2,5 I eat. The day dose should not exceed 20 cm of 5% of gel or 15 I eat 10% of gel for adults and 10 cm of 5% of gel or 7,5 cm of 10% of gel for children.

Side effects:

At long use local side effects are possible: itch, reddening, rash.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to indometacin and components of drug, acetylsalicylic acid or other NPVS, stomach ulcer and a duodenum in a phase of an aggravation, disturbance of coagulability of system of blood of not clear etiology, pregnancy and the period of feeding by a breast, children up to 14 years.
Preventions
Drug should be applied only on the unimpaired sites of skin. To avoid hit of gel in eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds. At long treatment (more than 10 days) to check a blood picture (number of leukocytes and thrombocytes). Depending on medicine combinations (with antibiotics, anticoagulants, antidiabetic means and so forth) to exercise the corresponding clinical and laboratory control. It is necessary to be careful at simultaneous use of drug with other NPVS and at the patients having bronchial asthma, allergic "hay" cold, polyps mucous a nose.

Storage conditions:

In the dry, protected from a direct sunlight place, at a temperature of 15-25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children! Period of validity 2 years. Not to use drug after the date specified on packaging.
