Betasal

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: betamethasone of 500 mkg that corresponds to the content of betamethasone of Dipropionas of 640 mkg, salicylic acid of 30 mg.

Excipients: vaseline white, liquid paraffin.

Pharmacological properties:

The combined drug, renders local antiinflammatory, antiallergic, anti-proliferative, antiseptic and keratolytic action.

Betamethasone - a glucocorticosteroid, renders antiinflammatory, antiallergic, anti-exudative, antiedematous and antipruritic action. Warns or reduces to a razvitita of local antiinflammatory reaction, slows down accumulation of leukocytes, release of lizosomalny enzymes and antiinflammatory mediators in the inflammation center, phagocytosis oppresses, reduces vascular and fabric permeability, interferes with formation of inflammatory hypostasis.

Salicylic acid due to keratolytic action softens skin and eliminates horn stratifications; promotes deeper penetration of a beta meson into skin, stabilizes physiological acidity of integuments, preventing development of a bacterial and fungal infection.

Pharmacokinetics. The beta meson easily gets into skin through a corneous layer. Is not exposed to biotransformation in skin and gets through it into an organism. Absorption of a beta meson through skin increases at use on gentle skin in the field of folds, at use on skin with the injured epidermis or the skin injured by inflammatory process. Besides, absorption increases at frequent use of medicine or after use on a considerable body surface.

The beta meson biotransformirutsya mainly in a liver. The beta meson in the form of connections with glucuronic acid and in a small amount in not changed look, mainly, is removed by kidneys and in smaller quantity with bile.

Indications to use:

— a subacute and chronic dermatosis, sensitive to local glucocorticosteroid therapy, followed by a hyperkeratosis and a peeling;

— psoriasis;

— acute and chronic eczema;

— neurodermatitis;

— red flat deprive;

— atopic dermatitis;

— dyshydrosis;

— seborrheal dermatitis of a pilar part of the head;

— ichthyosis and ikhtioziformny changes.

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly. Betasal apply with a thin layer on an affected area of skin, slightly rubbing, 2 - in the morning and in the evening. In mild cases ointment is enough to apply, as a rule, 1 time/; at more severe defeats more frequent use can be necessary. Other frequency of use can be established by the doctor, proceeding from disease severity.

Features of use:

Drug Betasal is intended only for external use Drug is not intended for use in ophthalmology.

To avoid hit of drug in eyes, it is impossible to apply on skin near eyes and on mucous membranes.

If the signs of hypersensitivity or irritation of skin connected using drug are noted it is necessary to stop treatment and to pick up to the patient adequate therapy.

To children since 1 drug is appointed only according to strict indications and under medical control as development of the system side effects connected with a beta meson is possible.

At use of drug on extensive surfaces and/or under an occlusive bandage function suppression гипоталамо - pituitary and adrenal system and development of symptoms of a hypercorticoidism is possible, decrease in excretion of a growth hormone, increase in intracranial pressure can be observed.

At prolonged use of drug its cancellation should be carried out gradually.

On face skin more often than on other body surfaces, after prolonged treatment of GKS of local action atrophic changes can be shown; the course of treatment in this case should not exceed 5 days.

Side effects:

At topical administration of GKS can be observed: burning, irritation, xeroderma, skin itch, folliculitis, aknepodobny rashes, hypopigmentation, allergic contact dermatitis, hypertrichosis.

At prolonged use, and also use of occlusive bandages - maceration of skin, consecutive infection, a skin atrophy, a heat rash, a purpura. When drawing on extensive body surfaces, generally at children emergence of system side effects of glucocorticosteroids and salicylates is possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Manifestation of overstimulation and xeroderma at simultaneous use with resorcin and tretinoiny is possible.

Cases of clinically significant interaction of drug Betasal with other medicines are not described.

Contraindications:

— skin displays of syphilis;

— chicken pox;

— perioral dermatitis;

— tuberculosis cutis;

— skin tumors;

— skin postvaccinal reactions;

— open wounds;

— trophic ulcers against the background of chronic venous insufficiency;

— rozatsea;

— vulgar eels;

— children's age (till 1 year);

— hypersensitivity to any of drug components.

With care a liver failure, long therapy, especially with use of occlusive bandages, use on extensive sites of skin.

Use at pregnancy and feeding by a breast

Clinical experiment on use of drug at pregnancy is not enough. Drug use Betasal at pregnancy is possible only in cases when the expected advantage of therapy for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit. In such cases use of drug has to be short and be limited to small sites of integuments.

In the period of a lactation drug use Betasal is possible according to strict indications, but at the same time it is necessary to resolve an issue of the breastfeeding termination.

Use at abnormal liver functions

Use for children

Drug is contraindicated to children till 1 year.

Overdose:

The acute overdose is improbable. At prolonged continuous use the chronic overdose is possible.

Symptoms: hyperglycemia, glucosuria, reversible oppression of bark of adrenal glands, emergence of a syndrome of Cushing.

Treatment: gradual drug withdrawal and symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

Drug is stored at a temperature not above 25 °C, in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity - 3 years. Not to use after the expiry date specified on packaging.
