General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient:
Spray nasal - xylomethazolinum a hydrochloride of 1 mg
Drops nasal for children - xylomethazolinum a hydrochloride of 0,5 mg
Excipients: a benzalkoniya chloride, dihydrophosphate sodium a dihydrate, hydrophosphate sodium dodecahydrate, dinatrium эдетат, sodium chloride, the water distilled.

Description: transparent, inodorous colourless solution.

Pharmacological properties:

Xylomethazolinum concerns to group of local vasoconstrictors (decongestants) with a– adrenomimetichesky action. Xylomethazolinum causes narrowing of blood vessels mucous a nose, eliminating, thus, hypostasis and a hyperemia of a mucous membrane of a nasopharynx. Drug facilitates nasal breath at rhinitises (cold). In therapeutic concentration does not irritate mucous, does not cause a hyperemia. Action comes in a few minutes and continues till 10 o'clock.

Pharmacokinetics. At topical administration it is practically not absorbed, concentration in plasma are so small that they cannot be determined by modern analytical methods.

Indications to use:

Acute respiratory diseases with the phenomena of rhinitis (cold), acute allergic rhinitis, a pollinosis, sinusitis, an eustachitis, average otitis (for reduction of hypostasis of a mucous nasopharynx).

Training of the patient for diagnostic manipulations in the nasal courses.

Route of administration and doses:

Intranazalno.

Spray of nasal 0,1% is appointed to adults and children 6 years are more senior: 1 injection from the sprayer in each nasal course (if necessary it is possible to repeat), usually happens enough 3 - 4 injections a day.

In order that it is correct to make injection, it is necessary to hold the sprayer vertically so that the nozzle was directed up. Then it is necessary to place a nozzle in the nasal course, quickly and sharply to press 1 time on the sprayer and to take out a nozzle, without unclenching the sprayer. During injection it is necessary to inhale a little air through a nose that promotes optimum administration of drug.

Drops nasal 0,05% for babies and children under 6 years: on 1-2 drops in each nasal course 1-2 times a day, it is not necessary to apply more than 3 times a day. To children 6 years – on 2-3 drops in each nasal course 3-4 times a day are more senior.

Features of use:

It is not necessary to apply for a long time, for example, at chronic rhinitis.

Side effects:

At frequent and/or prolonged use – irritation and/or dryness of a mucous membrane of a nasopharynx, burning, a pricking, sneezing, slime hypersecretion.

Seldom - a rhinedema, heartbeat, tachycardia, arrhythmias, increase in arterial pressure, a headache, vomiting, sleeplessness, a vision disorder, system allergic reactions; a depression (at prolonged use of high doses).

Interaction with other medicines:

It is incompatible with inhibitors of a monoaminooxidase and tricyclic antidepressants.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, arterial hypertension, tachycardia, the expressed atherosclerosis, glaucoma, atrophic rhinitis, a hyperthyroidism, surgical interventions on a meninx (in the anamnesis), pregnancy, children's age up to 6 years (for spray of nasal 0,1%).

With care – a diabetes mellitus, a prostate hyperplasia, children's age up to 2 years (for drops of nasal 0,05%).

Use during pregnancy and a lactation:
Drug should not be used during pregnancy.

In the period of a lactation it is necessary to use drug with care. Drug has to be used only after careful assessment of a ratio of risk and advantage for mother and a fruit. It is not allowed to exceed the recommended dosage.

Overdose:

Symptoms - strengthening of side effects. Symptomatic treatment.

Storage conditions:

At a temperature not above 30 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity: 3 years. Not to use after the date specified on packaging.

Spray of nasal 0,1%. On 10 ml in a bottle with the sprayer from polyethylene of low density with the screw-on cover from polyethylene of the high density supplied with the control system of the first opening. Drops 0,05%, nasal for children. On 10 ml in bottles of dark glass with the screw-on aluminum cover supplied with the control system of the first opening complete with the screw-on cover pipette from polypropylene / полистирена / rubber. The cover - a pipette is packed into the soldered bag from polyethylene of low density. The bottle together with a cover pipette and the application instruction is placed in a pack from a cardboard.
