Atsik cream

General characteristics. Structure:

Acyclovir of 5%

Other ingredients: стеарилполиоксилглицерид, диметикон 350, cetyl alcohol, white soft paraffin, oil mineral, propylene glycol, the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Atsik — antiviral drug for topical administration. It is highly active concerning a virus of a herpes simplex (Herpes simplex) of the 1st and 2nd types. Toxic action concerning cells of an organism of the owner minimum. Getting into the cells infected with a herpes virus, the acyclovir is phosphorylated with formation of active connection — acyclovir triphosphate. The first stage of this process depends on existence of a virusokodirovanny thymidinekinase. Triphosphate of an acyclovir works as inhibitor and substrate for a virus DNA polymerase, preventing further synthesis of virus DNA, not influencing usual cellular processes. Pharmacokinetic researches showed the minimum level of system absorption of an acyclovir after repeated use of cream Atsik.

Indications to use:

Infections of lips and the persons called by a virus of a herpes simplex (Herpes labialis).

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is intended only for topical administration.
To adults and children aged> cream Atsik to put 12 years 5 times a day (with an interval of 4 h), except for night time. It is important to begin treatment as soon as possible at the beginning of an infection, it is the best of all — during a prodromal stage.
Treatment has to last at least 4 days. If healing is noted, it is possible to continue treatment up to 10 days. If symptoms of a disease do not disappear after 10 days of treatment, the patient needs to see a doctor.

Features of use:

Drug is used only for treatment of herpes on lips and a face. It is not recommended to apply cream on mucous membranes of an oral cavity, an eye and to apply it to treatment of genital herpes. Consultation of the doctor is necessary for persons with especially heavy manifestations of Herpes labialis. Drug is not recommended to be used to patients with an immunodeficiency. Consultation of the doctor concerning treatment of any infection is necessary for such patients.
Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Do not apply.
Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with other mechanisms. Does not influence.
Children. Data on safety of use of drug for children aged <12 years are not enough therefore patients of this category are not recommended to apply it.
Security measures at use
At heavy disturbances of immune system of an organism prior to treatment consultation of the doctor is necessary. It is necessary to avoid accidental hit of cream in eyes. Patients with herpes of lips need to be warned against contact transfer of a virus to other people, especially in the presence of open damages of lips. Cream needs to be applied to achievement of the best result of therapy right after emergence of the first symptoms of an infection of herpes (burning, an itch, feeling of tightness of skin and reddening). Virostatichesky treatment using an acyclovir is inexpedient when integuments crust.

Side effects:

At some patients at use of cream can appear temporary fast-passing acute or a thermalgia. Approximately 5% of patients had an insignificant drying and a peeling of skin. At a small part of patients noted an erythema (reddening) and an itch. It was very seldom reported about cases of contact dermatitis after cream use. When carrying out tests for sensitivity these cases more often were connected with components of a cream basis, but not with an acyclovir. There are single messages on early reactions, including a Quincke's disease owing to topical administration of an acyclovir.

Interaction with other medicines:

Are not revealed.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to an acyclovir and to any of drug components, and also to a valatsiklovir.

Overdose:

At accidental oral or topical administration of all tube of cream weighing 2 g Atsik who contains 100 mg of an acyclovir adverse action was not revealed.

Storage conditions:

At a temperature not above 25 °C. Not to freeze!
