Pharmacological properties:
Pharmacokinetics. At external use it is practically not soaked up in a system blood stream and has no systemic action. When putting ointment on an affected area of skin in it therapeutic concentration of drug which is maintained at the constant level not less than 5 hours is created.
Pharmacodynamics. Антигерпин® - antiviral drug, effective concerning viruses of the simple and surrounding herpes (depriving). Is an analog of a purine nucleoside of a dezoksiguanidin, the DNA component.
Similarity of structures of an acyclovir and dezoksiguanidin allows an acyclovir to interact with virus enzymes that leads to interruption of reproduction of a virus. After implementation of an acyclovir in the cell affected with herpes under the influence of the thymidinekinase allocated by a virus, the acyclovir turns into an acyclovir monophosphate which enzymes of a host cell turns into an acyclovir diphosphate, and then into an active form an acyclovir triphosphate which blocks replication of virus DNA. The acyclovir triphosphate practically does not influence DNA replication of a host cell (a cell of the person).
Антигерпин® at herpes prevents formation of new elements of rash, reduces probability of skin dissimination and visceral complications, accelerates formation of crusts, weakens pain in an acute phase of the surrounding herpes.

Before putting ointment the struck surface needs to be washed up water with soap and to dry up carefully.
Prior to a procedure of treatment and after it it is necessary to wash up carefully hands to prevent additional infection of affected areas of skin (for example, bacteria) or transfer of a virus on healthy sites of skin.
