Teniosis

Description:

Teniosis (Latin Taeniosis) — the helminthosis from group of tsestodoz which is characterized by damage of a small intestine.

Teniosis symptoms:

The pork tapeworm lives in an upper part of a small intestine. Being fixed to a mucous membrane by suckers and kryuchyam, it irritates an intestinal wall. Also other mechanisms of pathogenic action, such as toksiko-allergic influence of waste products, absorption of nutrients strobily helminth, etc. are expressed.

From other symptoms patients note nausea, sometimes vomiting and an unstable chair, abdominal pains, headaches, a govokruzheniye, a sleep disorder. Changes from blood are not characteristic, at some patients the eosinophilia and hypochromia anemia is noted.

The invasion is dangerous in connection with a possibility of endogenous infection with cysticercosis.

Diagnosis of a teniosis.

Diagnosis of a teniosis is based on the same methods which apply to diagnosis of a teniarinkhoz: poll about otkhozhdeniya of joints, their macroscopic research and detection of oncospheres at microscopy of scraping, print or excrements. However all of them are less effective.

Oncospheres of a pork tapeworm are morphologically indistinguishable from oncospheres of a bull tapeworm. Important difference consists also that eggs of a pork tapeworm of an invazionna for the person, unlike eggs of a bull tapeworm.

Treatment of the Teniosis:

The diagnosis is established on the basis of a clinical picture, results of a careful numerous research of excrements on oncospheres of a pork tapeworm, a research of perianal scraping.

Treatment is carried out in the conditions of a hospital by phenasal or radio extract of a men's fern. It is necessary to take measures for the prevention of vomiting to exclude hit of eggs from intestines in a stomach (absolute rest, a hot-water bottle or mustard plasters on area of an epigastrium).
