General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 10 ml of suspension oral contain albendazole 400 mg.
Excipients: fructose, glycerin, polysorbate-60, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sodium methylparahydroxybenzoate (Е 219), sodium пропилпарагидроксибензоат (Е 217), Natrium benzoicum (Е 211), citric acid, Plum of MA/1 142 fragrance (contains propylene glycol), the water purified.

Suspension of white or almost white color, with a characteristic fragrant smell, sweet taste. At storage stratifying which is eliminated when stirring is possible.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Albendazole — anthelmintic broad-spectrum agent, is more active also relatively than pathogenic protozoa. Affects intestinal and fabric forms of parasites; active concerning eggs, larvae and adult helminths. Anthelmintic effect of drug is caused by oppression of polymerization beta тубулина that leads to oppression of activity of cytoplasmatic microtubular system of cells of the intestinal channel of helminths, disturbances of metabolism and a pogibaniye of helminths. Albendazole active on the relation of intestinal parasites, including nematodes: Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichurus trichiura, Enterobius vermicularis, Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus, Strongiloides stercoralis, Cutaneous Larva Migrans; cestodes: Hymenolepsis nana, Taenia solium, Taenia saginata; trematodes — Opisthorhis viverrini, Clonorchis sinensis; nayprosteyshy: Giardia lamblia (intestinalis that duodenalis).

Albendazole effective rather tissue parasites, including a cystic echinococcosis and an alveolar echinococcosis that vizyvatsya by an invasion of Echinococcus granulosus and Echinococcus multilocularis, respectively. Drug also effective at treatment of neurocysticercosis that is caused by an invasion of larvae of a pork tapeworm. T. solium, a kapilyarioza that is caused by Capillaria philippinensis invasion.

Pharmacokinetics. Absorption. After reception internally drug is badly soaked up from a gastric path (to 5%). The concomitant use of greasy food approximately by 5 times reduces drug absorption. The maximum concentration of drug in a blood plasma is reached in 25 hours.

Metabolism. Albendazole is quickly metabolized in a liver during pervinny passing. The main metabolite — albendazole sulphoxide — keeps a half of pharmacological activity of outgoing substance.

Removal. the albendazole sulphoxide elimination half-life from a blood plasma makes about 8,5 hours. Sulphoxide of albendazole and other metabolites are removed generally with bile, and only their small part is removed with urine (a mensha of 1%). Indications to use:

Enterobiosis, dochmiasis, necatoriasis, ascaridosis, trichinosis, strongyloidosis, hymenolepiasis, teniosis, opisthorchosis, токсокароз, капиляроз, гнатостомоз.

Route of administration and doses:

The dose is established individually, depending on a species of a parasite and body weight of the patient. Adults and children are more senior than 2 years at an enterobiosis, a dochmiasis, a necatoriasis, an ascaridosis, a trichinellosis apply internally 10 ml — 400 mg (contents of all bottle) of 1 times a day one-time. The course of treatment is repeated in 2–3 weeks.

At a strongyloidosis, a teniosis and a hymenolepiasis adults and children are more senior than 2 years use drug on 10 ml — 400 mg (contents of all bottle) 2 times a day for 3 days.

At an opisthorchosis and a clonorchosis adults and children are more senior than 2 years use drug on 10 ml — 400 mg (contents of all bottle) 2 times a day for 3 days.

At a lambliasis at children at the age of 2–12 years drug is used on 10 ml — 400 mg (contents of all bottle) of 1 times a day for 5 days.

At an alveolar echinococcosis drug is appointed throughout 3 cycles for 28 days with a 14-dvnevny break between cycles to patients with body weight by more than 60 kg on 10 ml — 400 mg (contents of all bottle) 2 times a day; to patients with body weight less than 60 kg use drug in a daily dose 15mg/kg for 2 receptions (the maximum daily dose of 20 ml — 800 mg). In need of treatment continue on month and year.

At the skin migrating larvae drug is used on 10 ml — 400 mg for 1–3 days.

At neurocysticercosis at patients with body weight more than 60 kg use drug on 10 ml — 400 mg (contents of all bottle) 2 times a day for 7–30 days, depending on efficiency of therapy. To patients with body weight less than 60 kg use drug in a daily dose 15 mg/kg for two receptions (the maximum dose — 800 mg a day) for 7–30 days depending on efficiency of therapy. The course of treatment can be repeated in 1–2 weeks.

At a kapilyaroza to children and adults appoint 10 ml — 400 ml (contents of all bottle) daily for 10 days.

At a gnatostomoza to children and adults appoint 10 ml — 400 ml (contents of all bottle) daily for 10–20 days.

Features of use:

Treatment by drug demands use of enemas, purgatives or a special diet.

 During treatment it is recommended to apply non-hormonal contraceptives. During use of drug it is necessary to control activity of liver enzymes prior to the beginning of each cycle of treatment. If the level of an indicator exceeds upper line of norm more than  twice, Pharmoks's uses need to be stopped to his full normalizirovaniye.

It is necessary to apply with care when driving by motor transport or work with other mechanisms.

 

It is necessary to control quantity of leukocytes at the beginning and each 2 weeks of each 28-day cycle of use of drug.

At decrease in quantity of leukocytes Pharmoks's reception can be continued only if extent of decrease insignificant and a leukopenia does not progress.

At neurocysticercosis with damage of eyes before a course of treatment inspection of a retina of an eye is necessary (strengthens risk of strengthening of pathology of a retina). 

Side effects:

Gastrointestinal frustration: stomatitis, dryness in a mouth, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, an abdominal pain, a meteorism, a diarrhea, a lock.

Neurologic frustration: sleeplessness or drowsiness, headache, dizzinesses, opacification of mind, disorientation, hallucinations, spasms, decrease in visual acuity.

Disturbances from system of circulatory and lymphatic system: disturbances of a krovoobrazovaniye.

Frustration from uric system: an acute renal failure, disturbance of an urination (at men).

Disturbances from a musculoskeletal system and connecting fabrics: muscle pain, joint pain, inflammation of joints, bad attack of gout.

Changes from skin and hypodermic cellulose: hypersensitivity of skin to sunshine.

Allergic reactions: itch, urticaria, dermatitis.

Dermatitis: hyperthermia, increase in arterial pressure, disturbance of a menstrual cycle, reverse alopecia.

Interaction with other medicines:

At simultaneous use з Cimetidinum, prazikvantely and dexamethasone increase in level of metabolites of albendazole in a blood plasma is possible.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to albendazole or auxiliary components of drug; pregnancy, the period before the planned pregnancy, the feeding period a breast, children's return up to 2 years.

Overdose:

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, vision disorder, visual hallucinations, disturbance of the speech, dizziness, loss of consciousness, increase in a liver, yellowness; brown-red or orange complexion, urine, sweat, saliva, tears and excrements it is proportional to the applied drug dose.

Treatment: carry out a gastric lavage or apply a symptomatic and maintenance therapy.

Storage conditions:

To store at  a temperature not above 25 °C in the place, unavailable to children.
