General characteristics. Structure:
Active agent: Chloramphenicol – 1 g, 3 g, 5 g.
Excipients: alcohol of ethyl 70% to 100 ml.
Pharmacological properties:
Active ingredient of drug is chloramphenicol – the antibiotic of a broad spectrum of activity having high antibacterial activity concerning the activator of a wound fever and various forms of pyoinflammatory processes.
Chloramphenicol – a bacteriostatic antibiotic, breaks process of synthesis of protein in a microbic cell (having good lipophilicity, gets through a cellular membrane of bacteria and back contacts subunit of 5OS of bacterial ribosomes in which movement of amino acids to the growing peptide chains is late that leads to disturbance of synthesis of protein). It is active concerning the majority of strains of the gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms steady against penicillin, tetracyclines, streptocides. Promotes clarification and healing of burn wounds and trophic ulcers, accelerates epithelization.
Indications to use:
The bacterial infections of skin caused by sensitive microorganisms, including infected burns (the superficial and delimited deep), decubituses, trophic ulcers, wounds, furuncles.
Route of administration and doses:
Outwardly, the damaged sites process the cotton plug moistened in solution.
Features of use:
In the course of treatment systematic control of a picture of peripheral blood is necessary. With care appoint to the patients who received earlier treatment by cytostatic drugs or radiation therapy. At a concomitant use of ethanol development of disulfiramopodobny reaction is possible (a hyperemia of integuments, tachycardia, nausea, vomiting, reflex cough, spasms).
Side effects:
Allergic reactions: skin rash, Quincke's disease. From bodies of a hemopoiesis: seldom – thrombocytopenia, an erythropenia, aplastic anemia, a granulocytosis.
Interaction with other medicines:
At simultaneous use with erythromycin, clindamycin, lincomycin mutual weakening of action is noted because chloramphenicol can force out these drugs from the connected state or interfere with their linkng with subunit of 5OS of bacterial ribosomes. Reduces antibacterial effect of penicillin and cephalosporins.
Contraindications:
Individual intolerance, pregnancy and lactation, oppression of a marrowy hemopoiesis, acute intermittent porphyria, deficit glyukozo-6-fosfatdegidrogenazy, liver, renal failure, skin diseases (fungus diseases, psoriasis, eczema). With care – the neonatality period, (to 4 weeks) and early children's age, the treatment which is carried out earlier cytostatic drugs or radiation therapy.
