Ibuprofen

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 60 mg of an ibuprofen in 1 suppository.

Excipients: solid fat.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Has anesthetic, antiinflammatory and febrifugal effect. The mechanism of action of an ibuprofen is caused by braking of biosynthesis of prostaglandins - mediators of pain and an inflammation.

Effect of drug continues till 8 o'clock.

Indications to use:

Suppositories rectal apply an ibuprofen (to children) from 3 months of life to 2 years as an antipyretic at the acute respiratory diseases, flu, children's infections, post-inoculative reactions and other infectious and inflammatory diseases which are followed by fervescence.

Drug is used as anesthetic at a pain syndrome of weak or moderate intensity, including: head and a dentagra, neuralgia, ear pain and in a throat, pain at injuries of ligaments and other types of pain.

Route of administration and doses:

Ibuprofen - the suppositories which are specially developed for children. Drug is used rektalno. Attentively read the instruction before administration of drug.

Fever (heat) and pain: the dosage for children depends on age and the body weight of the child. The single dose makes 5-10 mg/kg of body weight of the child 3-4 times a day. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 30 mg on kg of body weight of the child a day.

Children at the age of 3-9 months (5,5 kg - 8,0 kg): on 1 suppository (60 mg) 3 times within 24 hours in 6-8 hours, no more than 180 mg in sutr.

Children at the age of 9 months - 2 years (8,0 kg - 12,5 kg): on 1 suppository (60 mg) 4 times within 24 hours in 6 hours, no more than 240 mg a day.

Postimmunizatsionny fever: one suppository to children aged till 1 year, after 1 year, if necessary, one more suppository in 6 hours.

Treatment duration:
- no more than 3 days as an antipyretic;
- no more than 5 days as anesthetic.
If fever remains, consult to the doctor. Not to exceed the specified dose.

Side effects:

At drug use side effects are observed seldom, however emergence of the following side effects is possible.

From a GIT: nausea, vomiting, a sensation of discomfort, or pains in epigastriums, laxative effect, emergence of erosive cankers, bleedings is possible.

Allergic reactions: skin rash, itch, small tortoiseshell, exacerbation of bronchial asthma, Quincke's disease, anaphylactoid reactions, acute anaphylaxis, bronchospasm, fever, mnogoformny exudative erythema (including Stephens-Johnson's syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's disease).

From a nervous system: headache, dizziness, psychomotor excitement, sleeplessness.

Cardiovascular system: tachycardia, increase in arterial pressure.

From bodies of a hemopoiesis: anemia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, leukopenia.

From an urinary system: renal failure, cystitis.

At emergence of these or other side effects it is necessary to stop use of drug and to see a doctor.

Interaction with other medicines:

Simultaneous use of the Ibuprofen with anticoagulants can lead to strengthening of their action.

The ibuprofen increases concentration of digoxin, Phenytoinum, methotrexate, lithium in a blood plasma at simultaneous use with these drugs.

Use of an ibuprofen together with diuretics and anti-hypertensive means reduces their efficiency.

Strengthens side effects of mineralokortikosteroid and glucocorticosteroids.

Contraindications:

The ibuprofen should not be applied at:
- hypersensitivity to an ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NPVP), and also to other components of drug;
- to the bronchial asthma, a small tortoiseshell, rhinitis provoked by reception of acetylsalicylic acid (salicylates) or other NPVP;
- in the presence at the child of a canker of the digestive tract (DT);
- active gastrointestinal bleeding;
- at inflammatory diseases of intestines;
- at the confirmed hypopotassemia;
- blood diseases: hypocoagulations, leukopenias, hemophilias;
- renal and/or liver failure;
- decrease in hearing.

With care. It is necessary to consult with the doctor before to apply an ibuprofen if the child:
- takes other soothing medicine;
- has in the anamnesis: peptic ulcer, gastritis, ulcer colitis, GIT bleedings;
- has diseases of a liver or kidneys;
- accepts indirect anticoagulants (the drugs for intake reducing coagulability of blood), drugs for a lowering of arterial pressure, glucocorticosteroids, antiagregant, diuretics (drugs for strengthening of a mocheotdeleniye), lithium drugs, a methotrexate;
- has bronchial asthma, a small tortoiseshell.

Overdose:

Problems of emergence of overdose arise very seldom, however if you accidentally exceeded the recommended dose, then immediately see a doctor.

Symptoms: abdominal pains, nausea, vomiting, a headache, the bystry movements of eyes (nystagmus), the complicated breath, cyanosis of lips and a tip of a nose, bradycardia, tachycardia.

Storage conditions:

In the dry, protected from light place at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity - 2 years. Not to use after a period of validity.
