General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: Dimexidum - 100 ml.  Colourless transparent liquid or inodorous colourless crystals or with a slight specific smell. It is hygroscopic.

Pharmacological properties:

Antiinflammatory drug for external use, inactivates hydroxylic radicals, improves the course of metabolic processes in the inflammation center. Renders also mestnoanesteziruyushchy, analgetic and antimicrobic action; has moderate fibrinolitic activity. Gets through skin, mucous, a cover of microbic cells (increases their sensitivity to antibiotics), etc. biological membranes, increases their permeability for medicines.

Indications to use:

As a part of complex therapy: musculoskeletal system diseases: the pseudorheumatism, Bekhterev's disease (a spondylarthritis ankylosing) deforming an osteoarthrosis, a reactive synovitis; organic scleroderma, nodal erythema, diskoidny lupus erythematosus, mycoses of feet, keloid hems, thrombophlebitis, alopecia, eczema, ugly face, bruises, sprains, traumatic infiltrates; purulent wounds, burns, radiculitis, trophic ulcers, acne, furunculosis. In skin and plastic surgery – conservation of skin gomotransplantant.

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly, in the form of applications and irrigations (washings). In solution of necessary concentration moisten gauze napkins and impose on affected areas within 20-30 min. Over a napkin the polyethylene film and cotton or linen fabric is imposed. Duration of applications – 10-15 days. At treatment of an ugly face and trophic ulcers - in the form of 30-50% of solution on 50-100 ml 2-3 times a day. At eczema, diffusion streptodermas – compresses from 40–90% solution. For a local anesthesia at pain syndromes – 25–50% solution in the form of compresses on 100-150 ml 2-3 times a day. Solutions apply 10-20-30% to face skin, etc. highly sensitive areas. At treatment of deep burns apply bandages from 20-30% Dimexidum solution (in need of a dose to 500 ml). In skin and plastic surgery use bandages from 10-20% solution on replaced skin auto-and gomotransplantant directly after operations and in the next days of the postoperative period before permanent engraftment of a transplant. As the preserving environment for storage of skin gomotransplantant apply 5% solution in Ringer's solution. Less strong solutions make washing it is purulent - the necrotic and inflammatory centers and cavities.

Features of use:

Some patients feel a garlic smell in the inhaled air. Before use of drug it is necessary to carry out test on portability to it. For this purpose the dimethyl sulfoxide is applied on skin by means of the cotton plug moistened in it; emergence of a hyperemia and the expressed itch testifies to hypersensitivity.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, contact dermatitis, erythema, xeroderma, easy burning, pruritic dermatitis; seldom – a bronchospasm.

Interaction with other medicines:

Increases absorption and strengthens effect of ethanol, insulin, etc. medicines. Let's combine with heparin, antibacterial agents, NPVP. Increases sensitivity of microorganisms to aminoglikozidny and beta лактамным to antibiotics; to chloramphenicol, rifampicin, griseofulvin.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity, heavy liver and/or renal failure, stenocardia, the expressed atherosclerosis, glaucoma, cataract, stroke, coma, myocardial infarction, pregnancy, the lactation period.

Storage conditions:

In dry, protected from light and the place, unavailable to children, the place at a temperature not above 25 °C

Packaging:

Concentrate for preparation of solution for external use. On 50 or 100 ml in bottles of orange glass. The bottle together with the application instruction is placed in a pack from a cardboard. It is allowed to apply the text of the application instruction on a pack.
