Coldrex Knight

General characteristics. Structure:

Each 10 ml of syrup contain the following active ingredients — paracetamol of 500 mg, promethazine of a hydrochloride of 10 mg and dextromethorphan hydrobromide of 7,5 mg.

Also following inactive ingredients are a part of syrup: liquid glucose, ethanol (96 %), a macrogoal 300, sodium cyclomate, to atsesulfa To, acid sodium citrate,

Pharmacological properties:

Syrup Coldrex Knight contains paracetamol which is anesthetic and febrifuge. Paracetamol eliminates fever, reduces temperature, and also well kills a headache, muscle and joints pain which often accompany flu. Promethazine — the antihistamine eliminating a rhinedema and upper respiratory tracts, recovering nasal breath and reducing quantity separated from a nose. Dextromethorphan — an antibechic which suppresses the center of cough in a brain and by that stops dry cough. Besides, Coldrex Knight is a part of syrup liquid glucose which promotes reduction of an inflammation of a nasopharynx.

Indications to use:

Syrup Coldrex Knight is shown for relief of symptoms of cold and flu at night, including a headache, a fever, muscle pain, a pharyngalgia, cold and dry cough. Simplification of these symptoms promotes improvement of a dream.

Route of administration and doses:

Adults ( including elderly) and children of 12 years are also more senior: To fill a measured cap to a mark of 20 ml (or four spoons on 5 ml). Syrup needs to be accepted just before a dream.

Children  from 6 to 12 years: A measured cap to a mark of 10 ml (or two spoons on 5 ml). Syrup is given just before a dream.

Accept drug only for the night once a day.

If symptoms remain after 3-hdnevny administration of drug, then it is necessary to see a doctor.

Do not accept syrup Coldrex Knight if during the day you already accepted paracetamol in a dose of 4 g totally.

At preservation of symptoms see a doctor.

 Do not exceed the specified dose. If you accepted bigger amount of syrup Coldrex Knight, then  at once see a doctor even if you have no overdose symptoms.

Features of use:

Before accepting syrup Coldrex Knight consult to the doctor in the following cases:

• if you are pregnant or nurse the child;
• if you have bronchial asthma or other diseases of a respiratory organs, epilepsy, glaucoma, an ischuria, a prostatauxe or cardiovascular diseases;
• if you accept anticoagulants (for example, warfarin);
• if you accept the drugs eliminating alarm, or hypnagogues.

Consult to the doctor and in that case when you accept other cold or cold medicines or drugs containing paracetamol in the afternoon.

Syrup Coldrex Knight can cause drowsiness. If you had such reaction, then it is necessary to refrain from driving of the car, work with mechanisms.

Side effects:

At administration of drug in the recommended doses side effects are rare. Allergic reactions ( including skin rash, an itch, a small tortoiseshell, a Quincke's edema) or hypersensitivity by a sunlight are sometimes possible. Occasionally there can be such side effects as drowsiness, dizziness, dryness in a mouth, uneasiness, a lack of coordination of movements a veil before eyes, a disorientation, gastrointestinal frustration, an urination delay, paresis of accommodation and a bronkhoobstruktion. These side effects are temporary and pass after drug withdrawal.

Disturbances of a picture of blood (anemia, thrombocytopenia) were extremely seldom noted. At prolonged use in the raised doses there is a risk of development of serious violations of function of a liver and kidneys

Interaction with other medicines:

Drug strengthens effect of indirect anticoagulants (coumarin derivatives), ethanol, hypnagogues, anxiolytics and MAO inhibitors. Stimulators of a microsomal oxidation in a liver (barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants) increase risk of a hepatotoxic action at overdoses. Inhibitors of a microsomal oxidation (Cimetidinum) reduce risk of a hepatotoxic action. Drug can reduce efficiency of uricosuric drugs. Metoclopramidum and домперидон is increased, and Colestyraminum reduces paracetamol absorption.

Contraindications:

 Do not accept syrup Coldrex Knight if you have an allergy to paracetamol, promethazine to a hydrochloride or dextromethorphan to hydrobromide if you have a disease of kidneys or a liver if you accept (or accepted in the last two weeks) antidepressants (including monoaminooxidase inhibitors), and also if you need to make the test for pregnancy (drug can distort results of testing).

It is not necessary to accept drug at prostate adenoma, deficit glucose — the 6th phosphate of a dehydrogenase, blood diseases, and also at epilepsy.

Do not accept along with syrup Coldrex Knight other means against cold or against cold, the drugs containing paracetamol, and also alcoholic beverages.

Drug should not be given to children up to 6 years.

Overdose:

Overdose symptoms pallor of integuments, anorexia, nausea and vomiting. In a day — two can be defined signs of damage of a liver. In hard cases the liver failure and coma develops. At suspicion of poisoning it is necessary to ask for medical assistance immediately. The victim should make a gastric lavage within the first hours of poisoning, to appoint adsorbents (absorbent carbon) and to see a doctor. A specific antidote at poisoning with paracetamol is Acetylcysteinum.

Storage conditions:

To store at a temperature not over 25 ºС.

You store all drugs in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity - 2 years. Do not use syrup Coldrex Knight after the expiry date specified on packaging.

The bottle of transparent glass with the screw-on cap with protection against children and control of the first opening containing 100 and 160 ml of drug. One bottle is packed into a cardboard box together with a measured glass and  the application instruction.
