Dioxidin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 50 mg of a dioxidin in each ampoule.

Excipients: water for injections.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Antibacterial bactericidal drug of a broad spectrum of activity. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Friedlander's, Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteria, Shigella flexneri, Shigella boydii, Shigella sonnei, Salmonella spp sticks is active concerning Proteus vulgaris., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., pathogenic anaerobe bacterias (Clostridium perfringens).

Affects strains of the bacteria steady against other antimicrobic HP, including antibiotics. Has no local irritative effect. Development of medicinal stability of bacteria is possible.

In pilot studies existence of teratogenic, embriotoksichesky and mutagen action is shown.

Indications to use:

In-band – purulent processes in a chest and abdominal cavity: purulent pleurisy, a pleura empyema, peritonitis, cystitis, an empyema of a gall bladder, prevention of infectious complications after bladder catheterization.

Route of administration and doses:

The dioxidin is appointed in the conditions of a hospital. Before a course of treatment carry out test on portability of medicine for what enter 10 ml of medicine into cavities. At absence during 3 - 6 h by-effects (dizziness, a fever, fervescence) begin course treatment, otherwise do not appoint the Dioxidin.

Enter solution into cavities through a drainage tube, a catheter or the syringe - usually from 10 to 50 ml of medicine. Maximum daily dose of 70 ml of medicine. Apply usually 1 or 2 times a day (without exceeding a daily dose of 70 ml of medicine).

Duration of treatment depends on disease severity, efficiency of therapy and portability. At good tolerance enter during 3 weeks and more. If necessary the course of treatment is repeated in 1 - 1,5 month.

The dioxidin should be applied under careful medical observation.

At insufficient function of kidneys the dose has to be reduced.

Features of use:

At a chronic renal failure the dose is reduced.

The dioxidin is appointed only at inefficiency of other antimicrobic medicines.

At use for people of advanced age it is necessary to consider age decrease in function of kidneys that can demand reduction of a drug dose.

Use at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation. The dioxidin is contraindicated at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation.

Influence on ability to manage transport and potentially dangerous mechanisms. Considering side effects, it is necessary to be careful when driving and performing other work demanding concentration of attention.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, headache, fever, fervescence, the dispeptic phenomena, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, convulsive twitchings of muscles are possible. For the prevention of side reactions purpose of antihistaminic drugs and drugs of calcium is recommended.

At emergence of side reactions it is necessary to reduce a dose, to appoint antihistamines, and if necessary - to stop reception of a dioxidin.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity, adrenal insufficiency (including in the anamnesis), pregnancy, the lactation period, children's age (up to 18 years).

Overdose:

Symptoms: development of acute adrenal insufficiency, lowering of arterial pressure, bradycardia or tachycardia, disturbance of a cordial rhythm, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, meteorism, abdominal pains, block, hallucinations, paresthesias, muscular spasms, epileptic spasms, coma.

Treatment: drug withdrawal, replacement hormonal therapy.

Storage conditions:

In the place protected from light, at a temperature from 15 to 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. At short-term change of storage conditions in the course of transportation (temperature is below 15 °C) in ampoules possibly loss of crystals which are dissolved at intensive stirring at a temperature from 15 to 25 °C. A period of validity - 2 years. Not to use after the termination of a period of validity.
