Ftorokortum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: Triamcinolonum acetonide – 0,001 g.

Excipients: methylparahydroxybenzoate – 0,002 g, stearic acid – 0,025 g, polysorbate of 60 - 0,035 g, cetyl alcohol – 0,06 g, liquid paraffin – 0,12 g, глицерол 85% – 0,18 g, the water purified – 0,577 g.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. A glucocorticosteroid (KGF) for external use; renders local antiinflammatory, antiallergic, antiedematous and anti-proliferative action. At impact on skin there is prevention of regional accumulation of neutrophils that leads to reduction of exudation, products of cytokines, macrophage fixation, leading finally to reduction of processes of infiltration and granulation.

Pharmacokinetics. Triamcinolonum is quickly distributed in body tissues. The main metabolite of Triamcinolonum – 6-β-гидрокситриамцинолон. It is removed through intestines and kidneys, in equal ratios. Triamcinolonum elimination half-life from plasma about 5 h, an elimination half-life from tissues of 18-36 h.

Indications to use:

Skin diseases sensitive to glucocorticosteroids: acute and chronic eczema, neurodermatitis, contact dermatitis, red flat deprive, psoriasis, an exfoliative erythrosis, Leyner's disease, the outside otitis which is not complicated by an infection, stings of insects.

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly.
Drug is applied with a thin layer on affected areas of skin by 2-3 times a day (the maximum daily dose of 15 g). Use of an occlusive bandage is possible, at the same time the maximum quantity of ointment should not exceed 10 g.
The course of treatment – usually 5-10 days, at a persistent current – up to 25 days, is not recommended use more than 4 weeks.

Features of use:

At emergence of side effects it is necessary to stop drug Ftorokortum use.
As well as other local glucocorticosteroids, the drug Ftorokortum cannot be applied on skin in eyes, and also on wound surfaces. At use of occlusive bandages and use on big body surfaces perhaps systemic action of drug – in such cases is required the increased care, especially at treatment of children.
If the course of a disease is complicated by development of a consecutive bacterial or fungal infection, the drug Ftorokortum it is necessary to add specific antibacterial or antifungal agent to therapy.
With extra care it is necessary to use drug on face skin.
Use for children has to take place with care. It is necessary to consider that at small children skin folds and diapers can have the effect similar to action of an occlusive bandage and raise a system resorption of drug. Besides, at children big degree of a system resorption because of a ratio between a surface of integuments and body weight, and also in connection with an insufficient maturity of skin is possible.
Treatment duration at children should not exceed 5 days. More prolonged use of drug has to be carried out under control of the doctor.
Use of an occlusive bandage is not recommended to children.

Influence on ability of control of vehicles and work with the equipment
Drug does not influence the abilities necessary for driving or work with mechanisms.

Side effects:

Side effects at external use develop seldom and have reversible character. Burning, itch, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, akneiformny rash, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic or contact dermatitis, maceration of skin, consecutive infection, atrophy of skin, striya, heat rash.

Interaction with other medicines:

At external use of glucocorticosteroids interaction with other medicines is unknown.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any of drug components, virus, bacterial (including tuberculosis), and fungal infections of skin, a trophic ulcer of a shin, pink eels, vulgar eels, perioral dermatitis, an intertrigo, children's age up to 2 years. It is impossible to apply on wounds.
With care: pregnancy.

Pregnancy and period of a lactation
Use of Ftorokortum for pregnant women is allowed in cases when the potential advantage for mother prevails over possible risk for a fruit.
It is unknown whether drug gets into breast milk therefore in the period of a lactation it is necessary to refuse breastfeeding.

Overdose:

Symptoms: systemic action of GKS.
Treatment: symptomatic.

Storage conditions:

To store at a temperature from 8 to 15 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children!

Packaging:

Ointment for external use of 0,1%.
On 15 g of drug in an aluminum tuba with the soldered membrane with the screwed polyethylene cap. One tuba in a cardboard pack with the enclosed application instruction.
