Proteflazid

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agents: grass of a shchuchka of turfy 50 g, grass of a smallreed of land 50 g.

Excipients: ethanol of 96%.

Pharmacological properties:

Phytodrug with antiviral action. The Flavonoidny glycosides which are contained in wild cereals of Deschampsia caespitosa L. and Calamagrotis epigeios L., are capable to suppress virusospetsifichesky enzymes a thymidinekinase and a DNA polymerase in the cells infected with herpes simplex viruses (Herpes simplex of types 1 and 2). It leads to decline in the ability or to full blocking of replication of virus proteins and, as a result, interferes with reproduction of viruses.

Proteflazid stimulates a producing endogenous alpha and gamma интерферонов that increases nonspecific resistance to a viral and bacterial infection, normalizes the immune status of a human body.

Pharmacokinetics. Absorption.
At reception drug is soaked up partially in a stomach and then, generally in a small bowel.

Metabolism and distribution.
A small amount of flavonoids is exposed to disintegration at "primary passing" through a liver (presistemny metabolism), the main part is distributed in bodies and fabrics, gets into the cells infected with a virus. Drug practically does not affect not infected cells where a superactivity of virusospetsifichesky enzymes is not observed. Causes suppression of enzymes only in the infected cells.

Removal.
At adults final T1/2 makes 5-9 h that causes purpose of drug of 3 times/days.

Indications to use:

- for treatment of the viral infections caused by a virus of a herpes simplex (Herpes simplex) of the 1st and 2nd type (herpetic eczema, herpetic vesicular dermatitis, a herpetic gingivostomatitis and a pharyngotonsillitis, herpetic meningitis and encephalitis, herpetic diseases of eyes and genital herpes);
- for treatment of the surrounding herpes (Herpes zoster);
- for treatment of the infections caused by a virus of herpes of the 4th type (Epstein's virus — Barre) — an acute and chronic active form;
- for treatment of the infection caused by a virus of herpes of the 5th type (cytomegalovirus);
in complex treatment of hepatitises B and C;
- for complex treatment of viral, bacterial, fungal infections, their associations (a chlamydia, a mycoplasma, an ureaplasma, etc.), including a human papillomavirus infection;
- for treatment and prevention of flu and other SARS;
- in complex treatment of HIV infection and AIDS.

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is used inside and outwardly.

At use in a drop apply on a sugar piece (or food starch).
For adults drug is used according to the scheme: 1 week - on 5 drops of 3 times/days; 2-3 week - on 10 drops of 3 times/days; The 4th week - on 8 drops of 3 times/days. In 1 month after the last reception it is possible to repeat a course of treatment if necessary. The maximum daily dose at intake - 30 drops (1.25 ml or 1015 mg).

Outwardly drug is used in the form of vaginal tampons or lotions with drug.
For preparation of vaginal tampons with Proteflazid it is necessary to part 3 ml (72-75 drops) of drug in 20 ml of normal saline solution. To enter the gauze tampon moistened with the prepared solution into a vagina. The procedure is repeated by 2 times/days. At emergence of a burning sensation in a vagina it is necessary to double amount of solvent.
Treatment should be continued before disappearance of signs of damage of skin or a mucous membrane. The maximum course of treatment - 14 days.

For preparation of lotions with Proteflazid it is necessary to part 1.5 ml (36-38 drops) of drug in 10 ml of normal saline solution. To apply the gauze moistened in solution on an affected area of a mucous membrane or skin to 3 times/days.
Criterion of the termination of treatment is disappearance of signs of damage of skin or mucous membrane. The maximum course of treatment should not exceed 14 days.
The maximum daily dose at external use makes 72 drops (3 ml).

Features of use:

Pregnancy and lactation
Proteflazid's use at pregnancy is possible only in that case when the estimated advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit. At purpose of drug in the period of a lactation it is necessary to stop breastfeeding.

Side effects:

As a rule, drug is well transferred.
From the alimentary system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Seldom: allergic reactions, irritations when drawing on mucous membranes, tranzitorny fervescence to 38 °C for 3-10 days after an initiation of treatment.
Existence of these symptoms demands dose adjustment or the mode of a drug dosing.

Interaction with other medicines:

Manifestations of interaction with other medicines are not registered.

Contraindications:

— a peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum in an aggravation stage;
— children's age;
— hypersensitivity to drug components.

With care patients should appoint drug with the expressed allergic reactions in the anamnesis.

Overdose:

Cases of overdose are not described, but manifestation of side effects is possible, especially from a GIT.
Treatment: carry out symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

in the place protected from light at a temperature not above 25 °C. Not to freeze! Formation of the gel-like structure collapsing when stirring is admissible.
