General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 1 capsule contains piracetam 400 mg, cinnarizine of 25 mg;

excipients: lactose monohydrate, silicon dioxide colloid anhydrous, magnesium stearate.

Pharmacological properties:

Neuronorms – the combined drug. Active components of drug are piracetam, cyclic derivative acid γ-aminobutyric acid, and cinnarizine – the selection antagonist of calcium channels.

Piracetam is the nootropic means operating on a brain, improving cognitive (cognitive) functions, such as ability to training, memory, attention, and also intellectual working capacity. Mechanisms of influence of drug on the central nervous system probably a little: change of speed of spread of activation in a brain; strengthening of metabolic processes in nervous cells; improvement of microcirculation by influence on rheological characteristics of blood, without causing at the same time vasodilating action. Improves bonds between cerebral hemispheres and synaptic conduction in neocortical structures. After prolonged use of drug to patients with decrease in brain functions improvement of cognitive functions, improvement of attention is noted.

Cinnarizine suppresses reductions of cells of unstriated vascular muscles by blocking of calcium channels. In addition to direct calcic antagonism cinnarizine reduces sokratitelny effect of vasoactive substances, such as Norepinephrinum and serotonin, by blocking of the receptors of calcium channels controlled by them. Blockade of intake of calcium in cells depends on a kind of fabric, its result is anti-vasopressor action without influence on arterial pressure and heart rate. Cinnarizine can improve further insufficient microcirculation by increase in elasticity of a membrane of erythrocytes and decrease in viscosity of blood. Cellular resistance to a hypoxia increases. Cinnarizine suppresses stimulation of vestibular system that has the result of suppression of a nystagmus and other autonomous frustration. Cinnarizine prevents emergence of bad attacks of dizziness.

Indications to use:

Adult

The supporting treatment at symptoms of a cerebrovascular origin which include disturbances of memory and function of thinking, decrease in concentration of attention, disturbance of mood (irritability).

The supporting treatment at symptoms of labyrinth frustration which include dizziness, a sonitus, a nystagmus, nausea, vomiting; at Menyer's syndrome.

Prevention of a disease of the movement.

Prevention of migraine.

To children

Treatment of a dizleksiya at children aged from 8 years in combination with other appropriate methods, including logopedics.

Route of administration and doses:

Capsules of Neuronorms apply orally after food, without chewing, washing down with water.

Adult

Frustration of cerebral circulation: on 1 capsule 3 times a day.

Balance disturbance: on 1 capsule 3 times a day.

Diseases of the movement: the adult – on 1 capsule for half an hour before walk with repetition each 6 hours.

To children

As a part of complex therapy of a dizleksiya of Neuronorms apply to children aged 8 years are more senior: on 1-2 capsules 1-2 times a day depending on disease severity.

Course of treatment – 1-3 months. Do not apply more than 3 months. Carrying out 2-3 courses in a year is possible.

Features of use:

Drug with care is appointed to patients with diseases of kidneys and/or a liver. In cases of a slight or moderate renal failure it is recommended to reduce a therapeutic dose or to increase an interval between uses.

Patients with abnormal liver functions need to watch values of liver enzymes.

At long therapy at patients of advanced age regular control of indicators of function of kidneys is recommended, if necessary adjust a dose depending on results of a research of clearance of creatinine.

Gets through the filtering membranes of devices for a hemodialysis.

Use of drug it is necessary to avoid at a porphyria.

Drug can yield false positive result when carrying out doping control at athletes, and also when determining a radioiodine, in view of availability of iodinated dyes in a capsule cover.

Because piracetam reduces aggregation of thrombocytes, it is necessary to appoint with care drug sick with disturbance of a hemostasis, during big surgeries or to patients with symptoms of heavy bleeding.

As well as other antihistaminic medicines, Neuronorms can lead to irritation in epigastric area; its use after food can reduce the phenomena of irritation of a stomach.

It is necessary to abstain from simultaneous alcohol intake or antidepressants as drug can cause drowsiness, especially in the initiation of treatment (see the section "Interaction with Other Medicines and Other Types of Interactions").

Drug contains lactose. Therefore patients with rare hereditary forms of intolerance of a galactose, insufficiency of lactase or a syndrome of glyukozo-galaktozny malabsorption should not apply this medicine.

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast.

Use of drug during pregnancy is not recommended.

Piracetam gets into breast milk therefore in need of drug use feeding by a breast needs to be stopped.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms.

Considering possibility of side reactions from the central nervous system, it is necessary to be careful during control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms.

Children.

Side effects:

From a nervous system: a hyperkinesia, an ataxy, a headache, sleeplessness, the risk of deterioration in a course of epilepsy, vestibular frustration, increase in frequency of attacks of epilepsy, balance disturbance, a tremor, a hypersomnia, a lethargy, dyskinesia, parkinsonism, fatigue is possible. Prolonged use by the patient of advanced age can lead to development of the extrapyramidal phenomena.

From immune system: hypersensitivity, including anaphylaxis.

From a digestive tract: feeling of dryness in a mouth, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, pain in an upper part of a stomach, diarrhea, cholestatic jaundice, the increased salivation, nausea, vomiting.

From skin: a Quincke's disease, dermatitis, an itch, rash, urticaria, photosensitivity, a hyperhidrosis, a lishayepodobny keratosis, an erythematic lupus and red flat deprive.

Mental disorders: hypererethism, drowsiness, depression, uneasiness, confusion of consciousness, hallucination.

From a musculoskeletal system: muscle tension.

Others: an adynamy, arterial hypertension, thrombophlebitis, a hyperthermia, the increased perspiration, sexual excitement.

At a long course of treatment in isolated cases increase in body weight can be observed.

Interaction with other medicines:

At simultaneous alcohol intake and use of drugs, the oppressing TsNS, tricyclic antidepressants sedative action can amplify.

Drug exponentiates action nootropic, anti-hypertensive and vasodilators. Use together with vasodilating drugs strengthens its action, and availability of cinnarizine reduces activity of hypertensive means.

Neuronorms increases activity of thyroid hormones and can entail a tremor and concern.

Can strengthen effect of peroral anticoagulants.

Diagnostic intervention: in view of the antihistaminic effect of Neuronorms can mask positive reactions concerning skin reactive factors when conducting skin test therefore its use should be stopped in 4 days prior to its carrying out.

Interaction with clonazepam, Phenytoinum, phenobarbital, sodium Valproatum is noted.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to piracetam, cinnarizine or to any auxiliary component of drug; individual sensitivity to derivatives of a pirrolidon.

Heavy renal failure, acute disorder of cerebral circulation (hemorrhagic stroke), Huntington chorea, parkinsonism, increase in intraocular pressure; acute disorder of cerebral circulation (hemorrhagic stroke), psychomotor excitement.

Pregnancy or period of feeding by a breast.

Children's age up to 8 years.

Overdose:

Symptoms: strengthening of manifestations of side effect of drug. In isolated cases of acute overdose the dispepsichesky phenomena (diarrhea with blood, an abdominal pain), change of consciousness from drowsiness to a stupor and a coma, vomiting, extrapyramidal symptoms, arterial hypotension were observed. At children at overdose excitement reactions – sleeplessness, concern, euphoria, irritability, a tremor prevail, it is rare – nightmares, hallucinations, spasms.

Treatment. There is no specific antidote. Within the first hour after intake it is necessary to carry out a gastric lavage. If it is justified, it is possible to appoint absorbent carbon. Carry out symptomatic therapy. Use of a hemodialysis is possible.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity. 2 years. In the place, unavailable to children, in original packaging at a temperature not above 25 ºC.
