General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: acid askorbinovaya.1 contains a dragee ascorbic acid – 0,05 g; excipients: granulated sugar, starch syrup, essence aromatic food, beeswax, liquid paraffin, talc.

Pharmacological properties:

Water-soluble vitamin, eliminates deficit of ascorbic acid in an organism.
Activates activity of hemadens, regulates all types of exchange, fibrillation, an angenesis, formation of steroid hormones, synthesis of collagen, procollagen, maintains normal permeability of capillaries. Regulates cholesterol contents in blood, promotes accumulation in a glycogen liver.
Due to activation of respiratory enzymes in a liver amplifies its detoksikatsionny and belkovoobrazuyushchy functions, synthesis of a prothrombin increases.
Promotes absorption of iron in intestines and takes part in hemoglobin synthesis.
Ascorbic acid, showing the stimulating influence on an organism in general, raises its adaptation opportunities, resistance to infections.

Indications to use:

Diseases at which additional administration of vitamin C is required: for prevention and treatment of a scurvy, at bleedings (the uterine, pulmonary, nasal, hemorrhagic diathesis, bleedings arising at a radial illness), at various intoxications and infectious diseases, a nephropathy of pregnant women, Addison's disease, overdose of anticoagulants, fractures of bones it is also long not healing wounds, dystrophy, observance of reducing diets, in the period of reconvalescence, pregnancy and feeding by a breast, at the raised intellectual and exercise stresses, and also for nonspecific prevention of infectious diseases.

Route of administration and doses:

Ascorbic acid is appointed inside after meal. A therapeutic dose for adults – 0,05 - 0,1 g (1-2 dragees) of 3 - 5 times a day. Doses for children depend on age and the nature of a disease: to children from 4 to 18 years – for 0,1 - 0,5 (2-10 dragees) in 2 - 3 receptions a day. Duration is defined by the nature of pathological process and efficiency of therapy (mono - or complex).
With the preventive purpose ascorbic acid is appointed the adult in a daily dose of 0,1 g (2 dragees). To pregnant women and women after the delivery at the low level of vitamin C in breast milk appoint drug in a daily dose of 0,3 g (6 dragees) within 10 - 15 days then (preventively throughout the entire period of feeding by a breast) – in a dose of 0,1 g (2 dragees).
To children with the preventive purpose appoint drug since 4 years on 0,05 g (1 dragee) a day.

With caution patients should take drug with hypercoagulation.
At an urolithiasis the daily dose of ascorbic acid should not exceed 1 g. When using ascorbic acid in high doses control of function of kidneys and level of arterial pressure, and also function of a pancreas is necessary. The lack of vitamin C of a diet of pregnant women can be dangerous to a fruit, however its use in high doses during pregnancy can also negatively affect fetation. Ascorbic acid gets into breast milk therefore during feeding by a breast vitamin C should be accepted under control of the doctor.
Ascorbic acid as a reducer can change results of different laboratory tests (content in blood of glucose, bilirubin, activity of transaminases, lactate dehydrogenases).
This dosage form is not recommended for use to children up to 4 years.

Side effects:

Ascorbic acid, as a rule, is well transferred. At prolonged use in high doses negative influence on a digestive tract (nausea, vomiting, heartburn, ponosa), arterial hypertension, disbolism, oppression of function of the insulyarny device of a pancreas (a hyperglycemia, a glucosuria) and synthesis of a glycogen, decrease in permeability of capillaries and deterioration in a trophicity of fabrics, a thrombocytosis, thrombogeneses, myocardium dystrophy, allergic reactions is not excluded; at long use – formation of urinary, tsistinovy and oxalic stones. In patients with a lack of glyukozo-6-fosfatdegidrogenazy blood cells can cause hemolysis of erythrocytes.

Absorption of Ascorbic acid decreases at simultaneous use of peroral contraceptive means, the use of fresh fruit or vegetable juice, alkaline drinks. Ascorbic acid at oral administration increases absorption of penicillin, iron, reduces efficiency of heparin and indirect anticoagulants, increases risk of development of a crystalluria at treatment by salicylates.
Reduces anticoagulating effect of derivatives of coumarin. Improves absorption in intestines of iron preparations. Increases the general clearance of alcohol. Drugs of a quinolinic row, Calcii chloridum, salicylates, corticosteroids at prolonged use reduce reserves of ascorbic acid.
The concomitant use of Ascorbic acid and Deferoxaminum increases fabric toxicity of iron, especially in a cardiac muscle that can lead to a blood circulatory system decompensation. It can be accepted only in 2 h after Deferoxaminum injection. Long reception of high doses at persons who are treated by Disulfiramum slows down reaction Disulfiramum alcohol. High doses of drug reduce efficiency of tricyclic antidepressants.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to ascorbic acid and other components of drug; thromboses, thrombophlebitises sick with a diabetes mellitus.

Overdose:

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, dizziness. Therapy is symptomatic.
At prolonged use in high doses oppression of function of the insulyarny device of a pancreas, a renal failure, increase in arterial pressure is possible.

Storage conditions:

To store in the dry, protected from light place at a temperature from 15 °C to 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. It is not necessary to use drug after the termination of the period of validity specified on packaging.
