Pharmacological properties:

Interferes with formation of a cellular tubulin at helminths, breaks function cytoplasmatic микротубул, utilization of glucose and formation of ATP oppresses that causes an autolysis of parasites.

Pharmacokinetics. After intake Mebendazolum is practically not absorbed in a GIT. At normal dosing has low bioavailability in view of high primary metabolism and very low solubility. Bioavailability increases at reception with food, especially fat. 85% of Mebendazolum are metabolized by an intestinal epithelium and a liver. 90% of a dose of drug contact blood proteins. Collects in a liver, fatty tissue, larval cysts. Gets through a placenta. Almost completely (more than 90%) it is removed with a stake and urine.

Indications to use:

Enterobiosis, ascaridosis, анкилостомидоз, a strongyloidosis, a trichuriasis, a teniosis, the mixed helminthoses.

Route of administration and doses:

At an enterobiosis to adults and children 2 years are more senior appoint 1 tablet (100 mg) of Vermazol once. In case of high probability of a repeated invasion reception is repeated in 2-4 weeks in the same dose. It is recommended to carry out simultaneous treatment of all family members. At an ascaridosis, a trichuriasis, an ankilostomidoza or their combinations appoint on 1 tablet (100 mg) to children 2 years and in the adult morning and in the evening within 3 days are more senior.

At a teniosis and a strongyloidosis the adult about 2-3 tablets (200 - 300 mg) 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening) within 3 days are recommended to accept. To children 2 years are more senior appoint on 1 tablet (100 mg) 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening) also within 3 days.

At the mixed helminthoses the adult about 2 tablets (200 mg) 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening) within 3 days are recommended to accept. To children 2 years are more senior appoint 1 tablet (100 mg) 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening) also within 3 days.

Features of use:

During treatment it is necessary to observe personal hygiene in order to avoid repeated infection or transfer of a disease and to carry out simultaneous treatment of all family members.

At prolonged use it is necessary to control a pattern of peripheral blood, function of a liver and kidneys.

It is necessary to avoid simultaneous use of Mebendazolum with lipophilic substances. During the day after reception of Mebendazolum not to allow alcohol intake.

At use of Mebendazolum observance of a diet is not required.

After reception of Mebendazolum laxative is not appointed.

With care to appoint to children. Children under 2 years should appoint Mebendazolum only if the helminthic invasion exerts serious negative impact on process of food and physical development.

Side effects:

From a GIT, liver: in case of a massive invasion and bystry removal of helminths passing an abdominal cavity pains, diarrhea are sometimes noted, nausea and vomiting are possible. Occasionally, when using high doses of Mebendazolum for a long time for treatment of an echinococcosis, cases of reversible abnormal liver functions, increase in activity of hepatic transaminases or development of hepatitis were noted.

From TsNS: headache.

From system of blood: at long treatment of an echinococcosis Mebendazolum in high doses sometimes observed a neutropenia. Anemia, an eosinophilia are possible. Allergic reactions: skin rash, small tortoiseshell, Quincke's disease.

Another: hair loss, hamaturia, cylindruria.

Interaction with other medicines:

Mebendazolum lowers the need for insulin at patients with a diabetes mellitus. Joint appointment with Cimetidinum can lead to strengthening of effect of Mebendazolum at the expense of inhibition of his metabolism in a liver and increases in concentration in plasma.

Contraindications:

- the expressed abnormal liver functions;
- hypersensitivity to Mebendazolum;
- children's age up to 2 years.

Overdose:

Symptoms: spasms in an abdominal cavity, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Treatment. To make a gastric lavage with potassium permanganate (20 mg / 100 ml). It is possible to apply absorbent carbon. The specific antidote is absent.

Storage conditions:
