Calcium gluconate

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: calcium a gluconate - 0,5 g;

Additional substances: calcium stearate, potato starch, talc, sodium of a kroskarmelyoz.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Calcium a gluconate - calcic salt of gluconic acid is the means regulating exchange processes and also possesses protivoallergicheky, antiinflammatory, styptic action. Reduces permeability of vessels. Calcium ions participate in functioning of systems of an organism and its bodies, in particular in transfer of nervous impulses, reduction of muscles, functioning of a myocardium, a blood coagulation; they are necessary for formation of a bone tissue. Calcium the gluconate prevents also reduction of concentration of calcium ions in blood (hypocalcemia) that is shown at many pathological processes.

Indications to use:

Calcium the gluconate is applied at insufficient function of epithelial bodies, the strengthened release of calcium from an organism (in particular at a long immovability), allergic diseases, allergic complications, medicamentous therapy, to reduction of permeability of vessels at pathological processes of a different origin, at parenchymatous hepatitis, toxic damages of a liver, an inflammation of kidneys, a severe form of late toxicosis of pregnant women, a giperkaliyemichesky form of a paroxysmal mioplegiya, at skin diseases; as styptic cure, and also as antidote for poisonings with magnesium salts, oxalic acid, its soluble salts, soluble salts of fluoric acid.

Route of administration and doses:

Calcium the gluconate in tablets is appointed before food: the adult in a dose of 1 - 3 g a day (on 2-6 tablets) in 2 - 3 receptions.

To children: To children of a tablet appoint: till 1 year - on 0,5 g, from 2 to 4 years - on 1 g, from 5 to 6 years - on 1 - 1,5 g, from 7 to 9 years — for 1,5 - 2, from 10 to 14 years - on 2 - 3 g a day. Accept 2-3 times a day before food.

Features of use:

With care apply at patients with a small hypercalcuria, with insignificant renal failures or with an urolithiasis in the anamnesis; in the specified cases it is regularly necessary to control calcium excretion level with urine. Patients with tendency to formation of concrements in urine are recommended to increase the volume of the consumed liquid.

It is not recommended to enter to children in oil.

Side effects:

Disorders of function of digestive tract are possible.

Calcium the gluconate at simultaneous use reduces action of calcic blockers. At simultaneous use with thiazide diuretics can lead to increase in contents of calcium in blood serum. At use together with Phenihydinum reduces its effect. Drugs of calcium increase toxicity of quinidine. Calcium the gluconate prevents oppression of neuromuscular transmission after use of antibiotics, aminoglycosides.

Contraindications:

Hypercalcemia, heavy hypercalcuria, heavy renal failure, tendency to fibrinferments, hypersensitivity to calcium to a gluconate.

Overdose:

In case of overdose increase in content of calcium in blood is possible. At the same time drowsiness, weakness, frustration from a nervous system is observed; disturbance of a cordial rhythm is possible. In such cases it is necessary to stop temporarily administration of drug and to see a doctor. As an antidote apply a calcitonin.

Storage conditions:

The period of validity of drug makes 8 years. Not to use drug after the termination of the period of validity specified on packaging. To store in the unavailable to children, dry, protected from light place, at the room temperature (+15-+25 °C).
