Pancreatinum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: Pancreatinum - 0,1 g (25 PIECES).

Excipients: sugar milk (lactose), gelatin, potato starch, calcium stearate, целлацефат (atsetilftaliltsellyuloz), titanium dioxide (titanium dioxide), liquid paraffin (liquid paraffin), twin-80 (polysorbate), dye azoruby (acid red 2C.

Pharmacological properties:

Pancreatinum - digestive fermental means. Compensates insufficiency of vneshnesekretorny function of a pancreas, has proteolytic, amylolytic and lipolytic effect. The enzymes (a lipase, amylase, trypsin, chymotrypsin) which are a part of Pancreatinum promote the proteolysis to amino acids, fats to glycerin and fatty acids, starch to dextrins and monosaccharides. Improves a functional condition of digestive tract, normalizes digestion processes. Trypsin inhibits stimulated secretion of a pancreas, having analgeziruyushchy effect. Pancreatic enzymes are released from a dosage form in the alkaline environment of a small intestine since are protected from action of a gastric juice by a cover.

Indications to use:

- Replacement therapy at vneshnesekretorny insufficiency of a pancreas: chronic pancreatitis, a pancreatectomy, a state after radiation, dyspepsia, уковисцидоз.
- Meteorism.
- Diarrhea of noninfectious genesis.
- Remkheld's syndrome (gastrocardial syndrome).
- Disturbance of digestion of food (a state after a resection of a stomach and a small intestine).
- For improvement of digestion of food at persons with normal function of digestive tract in case of errors in food: use of greasy food, large number of food, irregular food.
- At disturbances of chewing function, a slow-moving way of life, a long immobilization.
- Preparation to radiological and to ultrasound examination of abdominal organs.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside. Drug is accepted in time or after food, without chewing and washing down with not alkaline liquid (water, fruit juice). The dose is defined individually depending on extent of disturbance of digestion.
Adults usually - on 2-4 tablets of 3-6 times a day. The maximum daily dose - 16 tablets. At children 6 years are more senior drug is used on doctor's orders. The dose is defined individually. Usually appoint on 1 tablet 3 times a day. Duration of treatment can vary of several days (at disturbance of process of digestion owing to errors in a diet) up to several months or years (in need of continuous replacement therapy).

Features of use:

At a mucoviscidosis use of Pancreatinum in high doses owing to increase in risk of development of strictures (a fibrous colonopathy) is not recommended. The dose has to be adequate to amount of enzymes which is necessary for absorption of fats taking into account quality and amount of the consumed food.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions. Seldom - diarrhea, a lock, a sensation of discomfort in a stomach, nausea (relationship of cause and effect of development of these reactions is not established with action of Pancreatinum since the specified phenomena belong to symptoms of vneshnesekretorny insufficiency of a pancreas). At prolonged use in high doses are possible development of a hyper uricosuria, hyperuricemia. At a mucoviscidosis in case of exceeding of a necessary dose of Pancreatinum development of strictures (a fibrous colonopathy) in ileocecal department in the ascending colon is possible. At use of Pancreatinum in high doses at children emergence of perianal irritation and irritation of a mucous membrane of an oral cavity is possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

At use of Pancreatinum decrease in absorption of iron and folic acid is possible. Simultaneous use of the antiacid means containing calcium a carbonate and/or magnesium hydroxide can lead to decrease in efficiency of Pancreatinum.

Contraindications:

- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
- Acute pancreatitis.
- Exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis.
- Children's age up to 6 years.

Use at pregnancy and feeding by a breast
Safety of use of Pancreatinum at pregnancy is studied insufficiently. Use is possible in cases when the expected advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit. In the period of a lactation use of Pancreatinum is not contraindicated.

Overdose:

Symptoms: hyper uricosuria, hyperuricemia. Children have a lock.
Treatment: drug withdrawal, symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

To store in the dry place at a temperature not above 20 °C.
