Rinazolin (spray of 0,5 mg/ml)

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: oxymetazoline;

1 ml of solution contains hydrochloride oxymetazoline in terms of 100% substance of 0,5 mg;

excipients: a benzalkoniya chloride, polyethyleneglycol, sodium dihydrophosphate a dihydrate, dinatrium phosphate dodecahydrate, propylene glycol, povidone, water for injections.

Pharmacological properties:

Rinazolin treats group of local vasoconstrictors (dekongensant). Renders alpha адреномиметическое action.

Narrows vessels in a site of application, reduces a rhinedema and upper respiratory tracts, reduces allocations from a nose. Recovers nasal breath. Promotes recovery of aeration of adnexal bosoms, a tympanic cavity that prevents development of bacterial complications (antritis, sinusitis, average otitis).

Oxymetazoline renders antiviral, antiinflammatory, immunomodulatory and antioxidant action. Thanks to this combined action mechanism during conduct of clinical trials more bystry and effective elimination of symptoms of acute rhinitis (a nose congestion, a rhinorrhea, sneezing, deterioration in health) was proved.

At topical nasal administration in therapeutic concentration does not irritate a mucous membrane of a nose, does not cause a hyperemia. Effect of drug begins quickly (in a few minutes after use). The elimination half-life makes about 35 hours after drug use. 2,1% of drug are removed by kidneys, about 1,1% – with a stake. Action duration – till 12 o'clock.

At topical intranasal administration has no systemic action.

Indications to use:

– The acute respiratory diseases which are followed by a nose congestion. 

– Allergic rhinitis.

– Vasculomotor rhinitis.

– For recovery of a drainage and nasal breath at diseases of adnexal bosoms of a nasal cavity, an eustachitis, average otitis.

– For elimination of hypostasis before diagnostic manipulations in the nasal courses.

Route of administration and doses:

Just before use it is necessary to take a bottle with drug in a palm to warm up it to body temperature. Before administration of drug it is necessary to clean a nose carefully. During drug use to hold a bottle vertically, the sprayer up. Before use to remove a protective cap of a bottle, to place a tip of a nozzle in the nasal course, the short sharp movement to squeeze a bottle and, having taken out a tip from a nose, to unclench. During injection it is recommended to inhale slightly through a nose.

To adults and children 6 years – on 1 injection in each nasal course 2-3 times a day are more senior. It is necessary to use drug no more than 5-7 days. Drug can be used repeatedly only in several days. Above recommended to apply doses only under observation of the doctor.

Features of use:

It is necessary to avoid prolonged use and overdose of drug. Prolonged use of an antiedematous for a nose can lead to weakening of effect of drug. Abuse of this means can cause a mucosal atrophy and a reactive hyperemia with medicamentous rhinitis.

After use of drug special observation of patients with chronic rhinitis is necessary. Doses, above recommended, should be applied only under observation of the doctor.

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast

 

In perite of pregnancy and feeding by a breast drug is used with extra care. Exceeding of the recommended dosing is not allowed.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms

 

After prolonged use of drug in the doses exceeding recommended it is impossible to exclude the general influence on cardiovascular system. In such cases ability to manage transport can decrease.

Children. It is not necessary to use drug to children up to 6 years.

Side effects:

From respiratory system: discomfort in a nose, oshcheshcheny burnings or a xeromycteria, sneezing, nasal bleeding.

After the effect of use of Rinazolin comes to an end, the feeling of a strong congestion of a nose can be observed (reactive hyperemia). An apnoea at newborns and children of younger age (especially in overdose cases).

From a nervous system: a headache, drowsiness, fatigue, spasms, hallucinations (especially at children).

From cardiovascular system: topical nasal administration can cause system effects, such as palpitation, tachycardia, arterial hypertension.

From immune system: emergence of allergic reactions, including rashes, an itch, a Quincke's disease is possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Not to use MAO inhibitors and other drugs which promote increase in arterial pressure because of risk of increase in arterial pressure. Joint purpose of other vasoconstrictive medicines increases risk of development of side effects.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, atrophic rhinitis. At use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors and for 2 weeks after the treatment termination by MAO inhibitors, and also other drugs which promote increase in arterial pressure. With the increased intraocular pressure, especially at closed-angle glaucoma. At severe forms of cardiovascular diseases (for example coronary heart disease, arterial hypertension). Pheochromocytoma. Metabolic disturbances (hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, porphyria). Prostate hypertrophy.

Overdose:

After considerable overdose or accidental intake there can be such symptoms: a mydriasis, nausea, vomiting, cyanosis, fervescence, spasms, tachycardia, palpitation, arrhythmia, cardiovascular insufficiency, a cardiac standstill, the raised potovydeleniye, agitation, convulsions, arterial hypertension, a fluid lungs, respiratory disturbances, pallor, a miosis, a hyposmia, mental disorders.

Besides, there can be an oppression of functions of the central nervous system which is followed by drowsiness, decrease in body temperature, bradycardia, arterial hypotension, an apnoea and possible development of a coma.

Therapeutic measures at overdose: gastric lavage, reception of absorbent carbon, ventilation of the lungs. At lowering of arterial pressure apply phentolamine. It is not necessary to accept angiotonic means. If necessary protivosudorzhny therapy is shown.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity 3 years. Not to use drug after the termination of the period of validity specified on packaging. To store in protected from light and the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not over 25 ˚С.
