НУРОФЕН® suspension

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 5 ml of suspension include an ibuprofen – 100 mg;
other components: мальтитол syrup, citric acid, sodium citrate, sodium chloride, sodium saccharin, a domifen bromide, polysorbate 80, pitch xanthane, orange fragrance, glycerin, the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

The nurofen for children has analgeziruyushchy, febrifugal and antiinflammatory action. The mechanism of action consists in suppression of synthesis of prostaglandins – pain mediators, an inflammation and temperature reaction.

Pharmacokinetics. After intake the ibuprofen is quickly absorbed from a digestive tract. The maximum concentration of active ingredient in a blood plasma is defined in 1-2 hours after reception. The ibuprofen is metabolized in a liver, removed by kidneys in not changed state and in the form of conjugates. An elimination half-life – about 2 hours.

Indications to use:

As an antipyretic at the diseases and states which are followed by fervescence including at:
— acute respiratory diseases;
— flu;
— children's infections;
— postvaccinal reactions.
As analgeziruyushchy means at a pain syndrome of weak or moderate intensity, including at:
— headache;
— dentagra;
— migraines;
— neuralgia;
— ear pains and in a throat;
— pains at musculoskeletal system injuries (including stretchings).

Route of administration and doses:

Use the doser for precision measurement of a dose. Densely insert the doser into a neck of a bottle and well shake up a bottle. Turn a bottle upside down and carefully pull the piston, involving liquid in the doser to a necessary mark. Having gained necessary amount of suspension, turn a bottle in output situation and carefully take the doser from a bottle.

After use wash out doser details warm water.
 
The recommended doses at fever after immunization – 2,5 ml, if necessary – 2,5 more ml in the 6th hour, but no more than 5 ml during the 24th hour.
 
The recommended doses at fervescence and feverish conditions and existence of a pain syndrome: children are from 6 to 12 months old – on 2,5 ml 3-4 times for days;
 
from 1 year to 3 years – on 5 ml 3 times a day;
 
from 4 to 6 years – on 7,5 ml 3 times a day;
 
from 7 to 9 years – on 10 ml 3 times a day;
 
from 10 to 12 years – on 15 ml 3 times a day.

Features of use:

With care it is necessary to use drug in the presence in the anamnesis of the child of a peptic ulcer, gastritis, ulcer colitis, bleeding from a GIT, at diseases of a liver or kidneys, at bronchial asthma, a small tortoiseshell, at a concomitant use of other analgetics, indirect anticoagulants, anti-hypertensive drugs, diuretics, drugs of lithium, a methotrexate.

Нурофен® children can apply to children with a diabetes mellitus since drug does not contain sugar. Does not contain dyes.
 
Parents of the child need to be informed that at emergence of side effects it is necessary to stop administration of drug and to see a doctor.

Side effects:

The drug Nurofen for Children does not cause side effect in most of patients. However, as well as when using other medicines, they are possible and include discomfort from a digestive tract, an aggravation of a peptic ulcer of a stomach, an abnormal liver function and kidneys, a headache, dizziness, temporary disorder of hearing; the skin rash and thrombocytopenia are seldom observed.

From the alimentary system: nausea, vomiting, a sensation of discomfort or pains in epigastriums, diarrhea, erosive cankers of a mucous membrane and bleeding from a GIT.
 
Allergic reactions: skin rash, itch, small tortoiseshell, bronchospasm, fever, mnogoformny exudative erythema (including Stephens-Johnson's syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's disease).
 
From TsNS: headache, dizziness, psychomotor excitement, sleeplessness.
 
From an urinary system: renal failure, cystitis.
 
From system of a hemopoiesis: anemia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, leukopenia.

Interaction with other medicines:

It is necessary to adhere to care at a concomitant use of the drug Nurofen for Children with peroral anticoagulants, acetylsalicylic acid and other NPZP.

Contraindications:

— the bronchial asthma, a small tortoiseshell, rhinitis provoked by reception of acetylsalicylic acid (salicylates) or other NPVS;
— GIT erosive cankers, active gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammatory diseases of intestines;
— blood diseases (decrease in a blood coagulation, leukopenia, hemophilia);
— the expressed abnormal liver functions and/or kidneys;
— decrease in hearing;
— the confirmed hypopotassemia;
— children's age up to 3 months;
— hypersensitivity to an ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid and other NPVS, and also to other components of drug.

Overdose:

Symptoms: abdominal pains, nausea, vomiting, headache, sonitus, metabolic acidosis, coma, acute renal failure, decrease in the ABP, bradycardia, tachycardia.
Treatment: a gastric lavage (only within an hour after reception), reception of absorbent carbon, alkaline drink, an artificial diuresis; if necessary carry out symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

To store in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 25 °C. A period of validity - in bottles on 100 ml - 3 years. Suspension in bags on 5 ml – 2 years. Not to use after the termination of a period of validity which it is specified on packaging.

Issue conditions:

Without recipe
