Nazivin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent:
Nazivin of 0,01% - Oksimetazolina a hydrochloride of 0,1 mg
Nazivin of 0,025% - Oksimetazolina a hydrochloride of 0,25 mg
Nazivin of 0,05% - Oksimetazolina a hydrochloride of 0,5 mg

Excipients: a benzalkoniya chloride of 50% solution, dinatrium эдетат a dihydrate, sodium dihydrophosphate a dihydrate, sodium hydrophosphate a dihydrate, sodium of hydroxide of 1 M solution, the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Називин® (oxymetazoline) has vasoconstrictive effect. At local drawing on inflamed mucous a nose reduces its puffiness and allocations from a nose. Recovers nasal breath.
Elimination of hypostasis of mucous promotes recovery of aeration of adnexal bosoms of a nose, a tympanic cavity that prevents development of bacterial complications (antritis, sinusitis, average otitis).
At topical intranasal administration in therapeutic concentration does not irritate mucous, does not cause a hyperemia.
At topical intranasal administration drug does not possess systemic action. Drug begins to work quickly (within several minutes). Duration of action of Nazivin till 12 o'clock.

Indications to use:

- treatment of the acute respiratory diseases which are followed by cold;
- allergic rhinitis;
- vasculomotor rhinitis;
- for recovery of a drainage at an inflammation of adnexal bosoms of a nasal cavity, an eustachitis, average otitis;
- for elimination of hypostasis before diagnostic manipulations in the nasal courses.

Route of administration and doses:

Ìế󿡮 0,01%, 0,025% and 0,05% of a drop are intended for use in a nose.
Adults and children are more senior than 6 years: to apply drops of Називина® 0,05% on 1 - 2 drops in each nasal course 2-3 times a day.
Children from 1 year to 6 years: to apply drops of Називина® 0,025% on 1 - 2 drops in each nasal course 2-3 times a day.
Children till 1 year: children aged up to 4 weeks appoint on 1 drop Називина® 0,01% in each nasal course 2-3 times a day. From the 5th week of life to 1 year - on 1 - 2 drops in each nasal course 2-3 times a day.
For ensuring accuracy of a dosage the bottle of Називина® 0,01% of drops has the graduated pipette with marks of quantity of drops. For example, if 1 drop is appointed, then the pipette should be filled with solution to a mark 1.
Efficiency as well following procedure is proved: depending on age of 1 - 2 drop of 0,01% of solution apply on vatu and wipe the nasal courses. It is necessary to apply Називин® 0,01%, 0,025% and 0,05% of a drop 3 - 5 days. Doses are higher recommended it is possible to apply only under observation of the doctor.

Features of use:

It is necessary to avoid long use and overdose of drug, in particular at children.

Influence on ability to manage vehicles and the equipment:
After prolonged use or reception of the means from cold containing oxymetazoline in the dosages exceeding recommended it is impossible to exclude the general influence on cardiovascular system and the central nervous system. In these cases ability to manage the vehicle or the equipment can decrease.

Side effects:

Sometimes: burning or dryness of nasal covers, sneezing. In rare instances: after there passes the effect of use of Nazivina®, strong feeling of "congestion" of a nose (reactive hyperemia). The repeated overdose at local nasal use results sometimes in such system sympathomimetic effects as increase of pulse (tachycardia) and increase in arterial pressure. The concern, sleeplessness, fatigue, headaches and nausea were seldom or never observed. Long continuous use of vasoconstrictive drugs can lead to a tachyphylaxis, a mucosal atrophy of a nasal cavity and returnable hypostasis mucous a nose (medicamentous rhinitis).

Interaction with other medicines:

Interaction with other medicines
At co-administration of blockers of MAO and tricyclic antidepressants - increase in arterial pressure.
Joint purpose of other vasoconstrictive medicines increases risk of development of side effects.

Contraindications:

Atrophic rhinitis; closed-angle glaucoma; hypersensitivity to drug components.
It is necessary to adhere to the recommended concentration of drug intended for different age categories (see routes of administration).

With care
At the patients accepting the monoamine oxidase inhibitors and other drugs promoting increase in arterial pressure during the period up to 10 days after their use; with the increased intraocular pressure, during pregnancy and a lactation, at severe forms of cardiovascular diseases (a hypertension, stenocardia); at a thyrotoxicosis and a diabetes mellitus.

Pregnancy and lactation
At use during pregnancy or breastfeeding it is not necessary to exceed the recommended dosage. Drug has to be used only after careful assessment of a ratio of risk and advantage for mother and a fruit.

Overdose:

After considerable overdose or accidental intake the following symptoms can appear: narrowing of pupils, nausea, vomiting, cyanosis, temperature increase, tachycardia, arrhythmia, collapse, oppression of cordial activity, arterial hypertension, fluid lungs, respiratory frustration. Besides, there can be mental disorders, and also the oppression of functions of the central nervous system which is followed by drowsiness, fall of temperature of a body, bradycardia, arterial hypotension, an apnoea and possible development of a coma. At the overdose connected with administration of drug inside the gastric lavage, absorbent carbon is appointed.

Storage conditions:

To store at a temperature not above 25 °C.
To store in the place, unavailable to children.

For Називина® 0,01%: on 5 ml in a bottle of dark glass with a cover pipette.
1 bottle with the application instruction is placed in a cardboard pack.
