Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Nazivin® Sensitiv (oxymetazoline) has vasoconstrictive effect. At local drawing reduces its puffiness and allocations from a nose by the inflamed mucous membrane of a nasal cavity. Nasal breath recovers. Elimination of hypostasis of a mucous membrane of a nasal cavity promotes recovery of aeration of adnexal bosoms of a nasal cavity, tympanic cavity that reduces probability of emergence of bacterial complications (antritis, sinusitis, average otitis). At topical intranasal administration in therapeutic concentration does not irritate and does not cause a hyperemia of a mucous membrane of a nasal cavity. Oxymetazoline begins to work quickly, during several min. Duration of action of Nazivin® Sensitiv till 12 o'clock.

Pharmacokinetics. At topical intranasal administration oxymetazoline does not possess systemic action. The oxymetazoline elimination half-life at its intranasal introduction makes 35 h 2,1% of oxymetazoline also about 1,1% with a stake are removed with urine.

Indications to use:

- the catarrhal diseases or viral upper respiratory tract infections which are followed by cold, sinusitis, an eustachitis, average otitis, rhinitis of any etiology;
- for elimination of hypostasis before diagnostic manipulations in the nasal courses.

Route of administration and doses:

Nazivin® Sensitiv spray nasal dosed 11,25 mkg / a dose and 22,5 mkg / a dose is intended for inranazalny introduction.
To children aged from 1 year up to 6 years: on 1 injection of Nazivin® Sensitiv of spray nasal dosed 11,25 mkg / a dose in each nostril 2-3 times in days. Drug is used 5-7 days. Moleno to appoint drug repeatedly only several days later.

To adults and children 6 years are more senior: on 1 injection of Nazivin® Sensitiv of spray nasal dosed 22,5 mkg / a dose in each nostril 2-3 times in days. If symptoms amplify or improvement does not occur within 3 days, it is necessary to consult with the doctor. In the recommended dose without consultation with the doctor to apply no more than 7 days.

Doses are higher recommended it is possible to apply only under observation of the doctor. One injection of 45 мкл contains;
- 11,25 mkg of oxymetazoline of a hydrochloride - for Nazivin® Sensitiv of spray nasal dosed 11,25 mkg / a dose;
- 22,5 mkg of oxymetazoline of a hydrochloride - for Nazivin® Sensitiv of spray nasal dosed 22,5 mkg / a dose.

Features of use:

To avoid hit of drug in eyes.
In order to avoid spread of an infection it is necessary to use drug individually.

Influence on ability to manage vehicles and the equipment:
After prolonged use of the means from cold containing oxymetazoline in the doses exceeding recommended it is impossible to exclude the general influence on cardiovascular system and the central nervous system. In these cases it is necessary to be careful at control of vehicles and occupations other potentially dangerous types of activity demanding the increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Side effects:

Sometimes: burning or dryness of a mucous membrane of a nasal cavity, sneezing. In rare instances: after there passes the effect of use of Nazivin® Sensitiv, strong feeling of "congestion" of a nose (reactive hyperemia).

Seldom: increase in arterial pressure, a headache, dizziness, a heart consciousness, tachycardia, feeling of alarm, irritability, a sleep disorder (at children), nausea, sleeplessness, a dieback, a vision disorder (at hit in eyes). Long continuous use of vasoconstrictive drugs can lead to a tachyphylaxis, a mucosal atrophy of a nasal cavity and returnable hypostasis of a mucous membrane of a nasal cavity (medicamentous rhinitis).

Interaction with other medicines:

Slows down absorption of mestnoanesteziruyushchy medicines, extends their action.
At the patients accepting monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO) within the previous 2 weeks and within 2 weeks after their cancellation, the tricyclic antidepressants or other drugs promoting increase in arterial pressure - increase in arterial pressure.
Joint purpose of other vasoconstrictive medicines increases risk of development of side effects.

Contraindications:

Atrophic rhinitis; closed-angle glaucoma; hypersensitivity to drug components.
For Nazivin® Sensitiv of spray nasal dosed 11,25 mkg / a dose - children's age till 1 year.
For Nazivin® Sensitiv of spray nasal dosed 22,5 mkg / a dose - children's age up to 6 years.

With care
With the increased intraocular pressure, chronic heart failure, arterial hypertension, stenocardia; arrhythmias, a chronic renal failure, at patients with a prostate hyperplasia with clinical symptoms (ischuria), the expressed atherosclerosis, at a hyperthyroidism, a diabetes mellitus, a pheochromocytoma.

Use at pregnancy and a lactation
At use during pregnancy or breastfeeding it is not necessary to exceed the recommended dose. Drug can be used only in those cases if the potential advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit and the child.

Overdose:

Symptoms: nausea, increase in arterial pressure, tachycardia, oppression of the central nervous system.
Treatment: symptomatic.
