General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 100 mg of a miramistin (бензилдиметил-миристоиламино-пропиламмония monohydrate chloride).

Pharmacodynamics. Мирамистин® possesses a wide range of antimicrobic action, including hospital strains, resistant to antibiotics.

Drug has the expressed bactericidal effect concerning gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae, etc.), gram-negative (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., etc.), the aerobic and anaerobic bacteria defined in the form of monocultures and microbic associations including hospital strains with polyresistance to antibiotics.

Has antifungal effect on ascomycetes of the sort Aspergillus and the sort Penicillium, barmy (Rhodotorula rubra, Torulopsis gabrata, etc.) and drozhzhepodobny mushrooms (Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, Candida krusei, Pityrosporum orbiculare, Malassezia furfur, etc.), dermatophytes (Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton schoenleini, Trichophyton violacent, Epidermophyton Kaufman-Wolf, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum gypseum, Microsporum canis, etc.), and also on other pathogenic fungi, in the form of monocultures and microbic associations, including fungal microflora with resistance to chemotherapeutic drugs.

Мирамистин® works on causative agents of diseases, sexually transmitted (Chlamydia spp., Treponema spp., Trichomonas vaginalis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and others).

Effectively prevents infection of wounds and burns. Activates regeneration processes. Stimulates defense reactions in the place of use, due to activation of the absorption and digesting function of phagocytes, exponentiates activity of monocytic and macrophagic system. Has the expressed giperosmolyarny activity owing to what stops a wound and perifocal inflammation, absorbs purulent exudate, promoting formation of a dry scab. Does not damage granulations and viable cells of skin, does not oppress regional epithelization.

Does not possess local irritative action and allergenic properties.

Pharmacokinetics. At topical administration drug has no ability to be soaked up through skin and mucous membranes.

Indications to use:

For use in surgery, traumatology:

— prevention of suppurations and treatment of purulent wounds;

— treatment of pyoinflammatory processes of a musculoskeletal system.

For use in obstetrics, gynecology:

— prevention and treatment of suppurations of puerperal injuries, wounds of a crotch and vagina, puerperal infections;

— prevention and treatment of inflammatory diseases (vulvovaginitis, endometritis).

For use in Combustiology:

— treatment of superficial and deep burns of II and III And degrees;

— preparation of burn wounds for a dermatoplasty.

For use in dermatology, venereology:

— treatment and prevention of a pyoderma and dermatomycoses, candidiases of skin and mucous membranes, mycoses of feet;

Route of administration and doses:

Adults. At use in surgery, traumatology, Combustiology with the preventive and medical purpose irrigate a surface of wounds and burns, рыхло tampon wounds and the fistular courses, fix the gauze tampons moistened with drug. At delivery of women by Cesarean section, just before operation process a vagina, during operation - a cavity of the uterus and a section on it, and in the postoperative period the tampons moistened with drug enter into a vagina with exposure of 2 h within 7 days. Treatment of inflammatory diseases is carried out by a course within 2 weeks by intra vulval introduction of tampons with drug, and also method of a medicinal electrophoresis.

For prevention of venereal diseases drug is effective if it is applied not later than 2 h after sexual intercourse. Urological to enter bottle contents by means of the applicator into an urethra for 2-3 min.: to men (2-3 ml), women (1-2 ml) and in a vagina (5-10 ml). At stomatitises, ulites, parodontita rinsing of an oral cavity of 10-15 ml of drug of 3-4 times/days is recommended.

Children. At acute pharyngitis and/or an aggravation of an adenoid disease carry out irrigation of a throat by means of a nozzle sprayer. To children at the age of 3-6 years: single pressing a nozzle sprayer head (3-5 ml on one irrigation), 3-4 times/days; to children at the age of 7-14 years double pressing (5-7 ml on one irrigation), 3-4 times/days; to children 14 years 3-4-fold pressing (10-15 ml on one irrigation) are more senior, than 3-4 times/days. Duration of therapy makes from 4 to 10 days depending on remission approach terms.

Rules of use of drug. Drug is ready to use. Instructions on use of packaging with a nozzle sprayer:

1. To remove a cap from a bottle.

2. To take the enclosed nozzle sprayer from protective packaging.

3. To attach a nozzle sprayer to a bottle.

4. To activate a nozzle sprayer repeated pressing.

Features of use:

Use at pregnancy and feeding by a breast. It is applied in obstetrics according to indications.

Data on safety of use of drug in the period of a lactation (breastfeeding) are not provided.

Use for children. Indication: complex treatment of acute pharyngitis and/or an aggravation of an adenoid disease at children aged from 3 up to 14 years.

Side effects:

Local reactions: in some cases - feeling of easy burning which passes independently through 15-20 sec. and does not demand drug withdrawal.

Perhaps: allergic reactions.

Interaction with other medicines:

At simultaneous use with antibiotics strengthening of their antibacterial and antifungal properties is noted.

Contraindications:

— hypersensitivity to drug components.

Overdose:

There are no data on overdose of the drug Miramistin®.

Storage conditions:

Drug should be stored in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 25 °C. A period of validity - 3 years.
