Dimeksid-ZhFF

General characteristics. Structure:

International name: Dimethyl sulfoxide.
Main physical and chemical properties: colourless, transparent liquid or hydroscopic colourless crystals with a slight specific smell.
Deystsvuyushchiye substance: 1 bottle contains a dimethyl sulfoxide 50 ml.

Liquid for external use.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. dimeksid-ZhFF (dimethyl sulfoxide) well gets through biological membranes, including through skin, showing thus the specific effects: antiinflammatory, anesthetizing, antiseptic, fibrinolitic. Dimeksid-ZhFF shows transport properties, promoting penetration through skin and mucous membranes of medicines.

Pharmacokinetics. Dimeksid-ZhFF is defined in blood serum in 5 min. after application of 90% of solution for skin. The maximum concentration is reached in 4–6 h and remains almost invariable for 1–3 days. It is removed with urine and a stake, both in an invariable look, and  in the form of methyl sulphone.

Indications to use:

Inflammatory diseases of a musculoskeletal system (pseudorheumatism, Bekhterev's disease, arthropathies), traumatic injuries of muscles, joints, sprains, bruises, posttraumatic infiltrates, inflammatory hypostases, purulent wounds, abscesses, acute and chronic osteomyelitis, nodular erythema; in complex therapy of the deforming osteoarthritis and pseudorheumatism, a streptoderma, акнэ, an erysipelatous inflammation, a furunculosis, a folliculitis, and in a combination with heparin at thrombophlebitis.

Route of administration and doses:

 In the form of aqueous solutions (30–40% of concentration) for compresses, tampons and washings. The gauze napkins moistened with Dimexidum solution impose on the damaged sites, occupying adjacent healthy sites of skin,   for 20-30 min. once a day. Over a napkin the polyethylene film and cotton or linen fabric is imposed. To face skin and other highly sensitive sites apply a drug 10-30%rastvor.

At treatment of an erysipelatous inflammation and trophic ulcers drug is used in the form of 30–50% of aqueous solution on 50-100 ml of a 2-3raz a day. At eczema, diffusion streptodermas compresses from 40-90% by Dimeksid-ZhFF solution,  are recommended at pustulous diseases of skin — 40% solution. For a local anesthesia 25-50% solution for compresses on 100-150ml   once a day are recommended. At treatment of deep burns apply bandages from 20-30% drug solution. 10-20 — 30%  apply Dimeksid-ZhFF solution to washing is purulent - necrotic wounds, cavities and sites of an inflammation. The course of treatment makes 10-15 days.

Features of use:

Because of possible individual sensitivity to Dimeksidu-ZhFF it is recommended to carry out a sensitivity test. For this purpose drug is applied on skin with the moistened cotton plug: the sharp hyperemia or an itch are contraindications for drug use. Use of drug for treatment of children is younger than 9 years and patients of advanced age perhaps only on doctor's orders.

Side effects:

Dimeksid-ZhFF it is usually well transferred by patients, but at some emergence of an erythema, an itch, dizziness, sleeplessness, an adynamia, dermatitis, diarrheas is possible. At hypersensitivity to Dimeksidu-ZhFF nausea, desires to vomiting, a bronchospasm is observed.

Interaction with other medicines:

Dimeksid-ZhFF can increase both specific activity, and toxicity of some medicines. Drug strengthens effect of ethanol (ethanol slows down removal of Dimexidum), insulin (at long use of drug the dose of insulin is reduced), acetylsalicylic acid, phenylbutazone, drugs of a digitalis, quinidine, nitroglycerine, antibiotics (streptomycin, Monomycinum , etc.), sensibilizes an organism to anesthetics.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to a dimethyl sulfoxide, the expressed cardiovascular insufficiency, atherosclerosis, a stroke, coma, abnormal liver functions and kidneys, glaucoma, a cataract, pregnancy. 

Overdose:

 It was not observed.

Storage conditions:

At a temperature of 15-25 °C, in protected from light and the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity — 3 years.
