Analginum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 0,5 g of analginum (metamizole sodium).

Excipients: potato starch, sugar (sucrose), calcium stearate, stearic acid, talc.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Metamizole sodium is derivative pyrazyl ketone. Possesses anesthetic, febrifugal and weak antiinflammatory action which mechanism is connected with oppression of synthesis of prostaglandins.

Pharmacological action develops in 20-40 minutes after administration of drug and reaches a maximum in 2 hours.

Indications to use:

Pain syndrome of various etiology (head, migrenozny, dentagra, neuralgia, mialgiya, альгодисменорея, postoperative pain); at renal and bilious gripes (in a combination with antispasmodics). Feverish states at infectious and inflammatory diseases.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside. Adults and children are more senior than 14 years: on? To-1 tablet 2-3 times a day after food. The maximum single dose – 1 g (2 tablets), daily – 3 g (6 tablets). At long use of drug (more than a week) control of a picture of peripheral blood and a functional condition of a liver is necessary.

To children appoint 5-10 mg/kg of body weight 3-4 times a day no more than 3 days (previously having crushed a tablet).

Not to apply (without consultation with the doctor) more than 3 days at appointment as an antipyretic and more than 5 days – at appointment as anesthetic.

Features of use:

At the patients having bronchial asthma and pollinoses development of hypersensitivity reactions is possible.

At prolonged use (more than 7 days) it is necessary to control a pattern of peripheral blood.

Not to apply to removal of acute abdominal pains (before clarification of the reasons).

At treatment of children up to 5 years and the patients receiving cytostatic means, reception of metamizole sodium has to be carried out only under observation of the doctor.

Extra care is required at appointment as the patient abusing alcoholic beverages.

Children up to 2 years are recommended to use children's dosage forms. To children and teenagers up to 18 years to apply only on doctor's orders.

Side effects:

At use of tablets of analginum side reactions can be observed:
- allergic reactions: skin rash, Quincke's edema; seldom – an acute anaphylaxis, a toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's disease), in rare instances – Stephens-Johnson's syndrome;
- at prolonged use there can be a leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, an agranulocytosis;
- at tendency to a bronchospasm provoking of an attack is possible;
- lowering of arterial pressure.

The renal failure, oliguria, anury, protenuriya, intersticial nephrite, coloring of urine in red color due to allocation of a metabolite is possible.

It is necessary to report about all side (unusual) effects including which are not stated above to the attending physician and to stop administration of drug.

Interaction with other medicines:

Simultaneous use of analginum with other non-narcotic analgesics can lead to mutual strengthening of toxic effects.

Tricyclic antidepressants, contraceptives for intake and Allopyrinolum break metabolism in a liver and increase its toxicity.

Barbiturates and phenylbutazone weaken its action.

Metamizol strengthens effects of alkogolsoderzhashchy drinks.

Radiopaque substances, colloid blood substitutes and penicillin should not be applied during treatment by metamizol.

Metamizol, forcing out peroral hypoglycemic drugs, indirect anticoagulants, glucocorticosteroids and indometacin from communication with protein, increases their activity.

Simultaneous use of analginum with cyclosporine reduces the level of the last in blood. Thiamazolum and sarcolysine increase risk of development of a leukopenia.

The effect is strengthened by codeine, propranolol (slows down an inactivation).

Sedatives and tranquilizers strengthen the anesthetizing effect of metamizol.

Contraindications:

- hypersensitivity to pyrazyl ketone derivatives (Butadionum, Tribuzonum);
- bronchial asthma; the diseases which are followed by a bronchospasm;
- "aspirinovy asthma";
- hemopoiesis oppression (agranulocytosis, neutropenia, leukopenia);
- heavy abnormal liver functions or kidneys;
- blood diseases;
- the hereditary hemolitic anemia connected with deficit glyukozo-6-fos-fatdegidrogenazy;
- pregnancy (especially in the I trimester and in the last 6 weeks), the lactation period;
- with care: infantile age (up to 3 months).

Overdose:

At prolonged use of drug (more than 7 days) in high doses there can be following symptoms of overdose: nausea, vomiting, gastralgia, oliguria, hypothermia, lowering of arterial pressure, tachycardia, short wind, sonitus, drowsiness, nonsense, consciousness disturbances, agranulocytosis, hemorrhagic syndrome, acute renal and/or liver failure, spasms, paralysis of respiratory muscles.

Treatment: to cause vomiting, to make a gastric lavage, to accept salt laxatives, absorbent carbon. In the conditions of medical institution – carrying out an artificial diuresis, hemodialysis, at development of a convulsive syndrome – intravenous administration of diazepam and barbiturates.

Storage conditions:

In the place protected from light. To store in the place, unavailable to children! A period of validity - 5 years. Not to use after the period of validity specified on packaging.

Packaging:

Tablets on 0,5 g. On 10 tablets in planimetric bezjyacheykovy packaging. On 10, 20, 30 tablets in a blister strip packaging. On 20, 30 tablets in glass jars or banks from glass melt, or banks polymeric. Each can or 1, 2, 3, 10 planimetric packagings together with the application instruction in a pack cardboard.

On 400 planimetric packagings with the equal number of application instructions in a box.
