Description:
Solar dermatitis (solar allergy, solar small tortoiseshell) - the dermatitis induced by solar radiation.
Symptoms of Solar dermatitis:
Phototoxic dermatitis (photodermatitis) develops in a day or is a little later after solar radiation. There is a skin hyperpegmentation, an erythema, in hard cases - bubbles and blisters. The clear boundary between the affected and not affected skin is observed, burning and an itch is felt.
At chronic solar dermatitis there can be an epidermis thickening, an elastosis, teleangiectasias and a hyperpegmentation. The photodermatitis can be followed by conjunctivitis, a cheilitis and deterioration in the general state.
Rash (solar small tortoiseshell) usually passes through 2-3 weeks, but after another session of solar suntan, the photodermatosis recurs.
Reasons of Solar dermatitis:
The photodermatitis arises under the influence of an ultra-violet part of sunlight on skin, is more often after impact directly on it than some substances: juice of plants (borshchevnik, fennel, parsley), medicines (tar, streptocides) or means of household chemicals. The allergy to solar suntan (solar dermatitis) is shown by erubescence of the person, peelings of skin, a severe itch, puffiness after stay in the sun are more rare than hands, legs and a stomach, emergence of blisters. Manifestation of a fotoredtoz is also promoted by some substances containing various oils, in particular, oil of a bergamot and a citrus, phenol, eosine. React with UV rays, these substances also provoke emergence of a photodermatitis. Except external irritants, emergence of a photodermatitis can be caused also by avitaminosis, existence of diseases of a liver, kidneys, adrenal glands, endocrine system. Can provoke a photodermatosis and reception of some medicines, such as antibiotics, cytostatics, oral contraceptives, antihistaminic drugs, antiinflammatory drugs. Treatment of Solar dermatitis:
At emergence of the first signs of a photodermatosis it is necessary to use protective cream, absorbing ultraviolet radiation and to limit stay in the sun, especially in midday time.
At treatment of solar dermatitis medicinal therapy is used:
• Glucocorticoid ointments: betamethasone, Ftorokortum;
• NPVS: indometacin of 25 mg 3 р / days, acetylsalicylic acid;
• Antihistamines at an itch;
• Chloroquine of 0,2-0,25 g 2 р / days cycles for 5 days;
• Niacin or Xantinoli nicotinas, group B vitamins.
