General characteristics. Structure:

Acetate Retinolum - 34,4 g or 86,0 g or  the Import oil concentrate - 1500000 ME/g of 66,67 g or 166,67 g or  the Import oil concentrate - 2800000 ME/g of 35,72 g or 89,29 g of Buthylhydroxytoluene          - 1,5 g or 3,75 g of Sunflower oil of the refined   acetate Retinolum deodorized to 1 l Contents in 1 ml of Solutio oleosa of 3,44%-100000 ME, in 1 drop-5000 ME and Solutio oleosa of 8,6% in 1 ml - 250000 ME, in 1 drop – 12500 ME.

Pharmacological properties:

Vitamin A has fortifying effect, normalizes fabric exchange; participates in oxidation-reduction processes (owing to a large number of unsaturated bonds), in synthesis of mucopolysaccharides, proteins, lipids, in mineral exchange, processes of formation of cholesterol. Strengthens development of a lipase and trypsin, strengthens a myelopoiesis, processes of cellular division. Increases resistance of an organism to an infection. Strengthens division of epithelial cells of skin, slows down processes of keratinization, strengthens synthesis of glikozaminoglikan. Participates in photoreception processes (improves visual adaptation to darkness).

Indications to use:

Hypovitaminosis, A. V avitaminosis of complex therapy of the states which are followed by the increased need for vitamin A:

- infectious and inflammatory (including chronic) and "catarrhal" diseases;

- defeats and diseases of skin (frostbites of the I degree, burns of 1 degree, ichthyosis, hyperkeratosis, seborrheal dermatitis, psoriasis, neurodermatitis, some forms of eczema).

- diseases of eyes (pigmental retinitis, hemeralopia, xerophthalmia, keratomalacia, eczematic defeats century).

- the gastrointestinal diseases connected with Retinolum absorption disturbance (a gastroektomiya, diarrhea, a steatorrhea, a Gee's disease, a disease Krone, a sprue).

Route of administration and doses:

Use of drug needs to be carried out under observation of the doctor. Drug is accepted inside (in 10 - 15 minutes after food) early in the morning or late at night. The highest single medical dose for adults – 50000 ME, daily – 100000 ME; for children respectively – 5000 ME and 20000 ME. With the medical purpose at avitaminosis easy and moderate severity appoint the adult to 33000 ME in days (Retinolum solution acetate in oil of 3,44% - 6 drops), to children are more senior than 7 years – on 5000 ME in days (1 drop of Retinolum of acetate of solution in oil of 3,44%). At diseases of eyes appoint adult – 50000 – 100000 ME a day (acetate Retinolum solution in oil of 3,44% of-10-20 drops) and at the same time 0,02g Riboflavinum. At diseases of skin appoint the adult in days 50000-100000 ME Retinolums of acetate and on 5000-10000-20000 ME children. Outwardly appoint at frostbites, burns. The affected area after cleaning is greased with solution and covered with a gauze bandage (to 5 – 6 times a day, in process of scarring and epithelization the frequency of greasing is reduced to 1 time a day), at the same time Retinolum is appointed inside or intramusculary.

Features of use:

Do not accept at the same time other polyvitaminic complexes containing vitamin A in order to avoid overdose.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions. Long daily reception of vitamin A can cause intoxication, a hypervitaminosis And.  And adults have symptoms of a hypervitaminosis a headache, drowsiness, slackness, a hyperemia of the person, nausea, vomiting, morbidity in bones of the lower extremities, gait disturbance. At children can be observed: temperature increase, drowsiness, perspiration, vomiting, skin rashes.

Interaction with other medicines:

During long therapy tetracyclines do not recommend to appoint vitamin A (the risk of development of intracranial hypertensia increases). Salicylates and glucocorticosteroids reduce risk of development of side effects. Colestyraminum, колестипол, mineral oils, Neomycinum reduce vitamin A absorption (increase in a dose can be required) Oral contraceptives increase concentration of vitamin A in plasma. Izotretinoin increases risk of emergence of toxic effect.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, a hypervitaminosis And, pregnancy, cholelithiasis, chronic pancreatitis, acute inflammatory diseases of skin, children's age up to seven years. With care: nephrite, heart failure of II-IIIST., alcoholism, cirrhosis, viral hepatitis, renal failure, advanced age.

Overdose:

Symptoms of acute overdose (develop in 6 hours after reception): hypervitaminosis And: adults have a drowsiness, slackness, doubling in eyes, dizziness, a severe headache, nausea, pernicious vomiting, diarrhea, irritability, bleeding of gums, dryness and an ulceration of a mucous membrane of an oral cavity, a peeling of lips, skin (especially palms), confusion of consciousness, increase in intracranial pressure (children of chest age have a hydrocephaly, protrusion of a fontanel). Symptoms of chronic intoxication: appetite loss, an ostealgia, cracks and a xeroderma, dryness of a mucous membrane of an oral cavity, lips, a gastralgia, vomiting, a hyperthermia, an adynamy, excessive fatigue, a headache, photosensitivity, a pollakiuria, a nocturia, a polyuria, irritability, a hair loss, yellow-orange spots on soles, palms, in the field of a nasolabial triangle, the hepatotoxic phenomena, intraocular hypertensia, an oligomenorrhea, portal hypertensia, hemolitic anemia, changes on roentgenograms of bones, spasms. Treatment: drug withdrawal; symptomatic therapy.
