Aphonia

Aphonia (aphonia; and - – otritsa. Greek phone – a voice, a sound is frequent +) – lack of sonority of a voice, at the same time the shepotny speech remains.

Allocate the following types of an aphonia:

  • Guttural (laryngea; synonym: the aphonia true) – is caused by lack of a full smykaniye or sufficient vibration of voice folds against the background of organic lesions of a throat (cicatricial changes, tumors, etc.);
  • Leprose (leprosa) – a guttural aphonia at a leprosy; develops because of cicatricial changes of a throat;
  • Paralytic (paralytica) – is caused by paralysis of the muscles of a throat (in most cases unilateral) innervated by the lower guttural nerve at his diseases or damages, and also against the background of a myelosyringosis or a syringobulbia;
  • Psychogenic (psychogena) – is caused by a mental injury or affect of fear;
  • Syphilitic (syphilitica) – a guttural aphonia at secondary syphilis; it is caused by emergence of a syphilide on mucous membranes of voice folds;
  • Functional (functionalis) – is characterized by an incomplete smykaniye of phonatory bands in the absence of pathological disturbances in a throat; it is observed against the background of neurotic states.
