Gonadotrophin

Gonadotrophin chorionic – hormonal drug which is emitted from urine of pregnant women. It is widely used for prevention and treatment of infertility, stimulates an ovulation at women and a spermatogenesis at men.

Pharmacological action

Gonadotrophin chorionic – hormone which is emitted by the woman's placenta during pregnancy. Treats gonadotropic hormones, has differences on the amino-acid sequence.

Hormone a gonadotrophin is emitted from first weeks of pregnancy, as used in tests for pregnancy at early stages. The amount of hormone sharply increases in the woman's organism in the first 11 weeks of pregnancy, and then gradually decreases. Decrease in hormone in the first trimester of pregnancy can testify to a possible spontaneous abortion or an extrauterine pregnancy.

Presence of a gonadotrophin of the person at men and nonpregnant women demonstrates hormonal disturbances or malignant tumors.

The drug Gonadotrophin chorionic renders the follicle-stimulating and gonadotropic (preferential luteinizing) action stimulating an ovulation, a spermatogenesis, development of generative organs and synthesis of sex hormones in ovaries.

Release form

The gonadotrophin is released in the form of sterile powder of white color for intramuscular injections.

In a set of 3 or 5 bottles, and also ampoules for preparation of injections with chloride sodium solution. Each bottle of 5 ml contains 500 PIECES, 1000 PIECES, 1500 PIECES or 2000 PIECES of hormone.

Indications to use of the Gonadotrophin

The gonadotrophin of the person is widely applied to treatment of disturbances of sexual functions of men and women who are connected with pituitary insufficiency and hypofunction of gonads. Also as the indication serves depression of function of gonads which is caused by disturbance of activity of a hypothalamus and a hypophysis, Simmonds's disease, a hypogonadotropic hypogonadism with eunuchoidism signs, a panhypopituitarism of any etiology, Shikhan's syndrome and others.

Serve as indications as the Gonadotrophin at women for treatment:

• Disturbances of a menstrual cycle;
• Infertility which is connected with lack of an ovulation, hormonal frustration or insufficiency of a yellow body;
• Dysfunction of ovaries;
• Dysmenorrhea;
• Not incubation of pregnancy and threat of an abortion;
• The dysfunctional uterine bleeding arising at women of childbearing age.

The gonadotrophin of the person is also widely used for treatment of boys and men in cases:

• The genetic disorders connected with underdevelopment of external genitals;
• Sexual infantility or underdevelopment;
• At a cryptorchism (absence in a scrotum of one or two testicles);
• At the obesity caused by disturbance of functions of gonads;
• At a growth inhibition and development, caused by dysfunction of a hypophysis.

On use of hormone of the Gonadotrophin carry to contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to drug components;
• Different types of tumors, including hypophysis and gonads;
• Inborn or postoperative lack of gonads;
• Ovarian cancer;
• Early approach of a menopause;
• Lactation period;
• Impassability of uterine tubes.

According to reviews of the Gonadotrophin with care it is necessary to use drug at teenage age, at a chronic renal failure, thrombophlebitis and coronary heart disease.

Application instruction

Hormone of the Gonadotrophin is appointed only intramusculary, parting it just before an injection.

To women:

• For induction of an ovulation of a superovulation (when holding auxiliary reproductive actions) usually appoint single administration of drug on 5000-10000 PIECES;
• At usual not incubation of pregnancy or threat of a spontaneous abortion in the first day of treatment enter 10000 PIECES, then 2 times a week on 5000 PIECES. A course – inclusive till 14th week of pregnancy from the moment of diagnosing;
• For stimulation of function of a yellow body treatment is carried out for the 3,6 and 9 day after an ovulation (on 1500-5000 PIECES once).

To men and boys:

• At a delay of sexual development at boys treatment takes place within 3 months, once a week (on 3000-5000 ME);
• At treatment of disturbances of sexual functions at men – 1 times a day 2-3 times a week (on 500-2000 PIECES). The course is calculated individually from 1,5 to 3 months;
• At a hypogonadotropic hypogonadism – once a week in a combination from menotropina (on 1500-6000 PIECES);
• For diagnosis of a cryptorchism and an anorchism – 5000 PIECES once.

Side effects

Men at use of the Gonadotrophin can have hypostases, sensitivity of nipples of chest glands will increase, to decrease quantity of spermatozoa in an ejaculate and to increase testicles in the inguinal channel.

At women during treatment of infertility hormone of the Gonadotrophin the syndrome of hyper stimulation of ovaries can develop.

According to reviews of the Gonadotrophin, during treatment there can be allergic reactions, raise fatigue, appear irritability, uneasiness and a depression.

It is necessary to consider that prolonged use of drug at a cryptorchism can lead to a degeneration of gonads, and at teenage boys perhaps premature puberty. Also at prolonged use of drug development of antibodies and polycarpous pregnancy is possible.

At women after drug withdrawal of the Gonadotrophin during the first seven days wrong results of tests for pregnancy are possible.

Storage conditions

The gonadotrophin is carried to drugs of the list B and is released in drugstores only to the recipe of the doctor. Storage – at a temperature not above 20 °C.
