Peas

As the medicinal plant peas is used long ago. From Ancient Greece where it was cultivated for several centuries B.C., seeds of peas extended to the Asian and European countries. In Russia yellow grades of a plant were also known long since, however seeds of peas of green grades delivered only in the 18th century, and they were widely adopted at once.

In the medical purposes it is possible to eat both fresh peas, and prepared in the form of various dishes.

Fresh peas have insignificant diuretic property. For fuller digestion of the vitamin A containing in a plant it is not necessary to combine it with starch-containing products.

At ulcer pains of a stomach it is useful to eat peas puree that allows to reduce acidity. At cardiovascular diseases peas are useful in any kind as it practically does not contain fats, cholesterol and sodium, and the fibers which are its part promote decrease in cholesterol in blood.

Peas need also to be included in the diet for prevention of development of dermatitis and spasms that is caused by ability of a pyridoxine to split and synthesize amino acids.

Broth from a tops of vegetable and fruits of peas in traditional medicine is applied as diuretic which promotes dissolution of stones in kidneys.

For increase in caloric content and nutritiousness of flour products at pastries it is possible to add pea to wheat flour.

For reduction of abdominal distention which often causes peas, it is recommended to be eaten with fennel or fennel. Also it should not be washed down with cold water.

Gruel from unripe seeds of peas or the soaked pea meal is recommended to be put for treatment of eczema, an erysipelatous inflammation of skin, purulent wounds, eels, furuncles and an anthrax.

Contraindications to peas use

The fresh or prepared peas are contraindicated at acute nephrite and gout. Also it is contraindicated to use peas at an aggravation of inflammatory processes in a stomach and intestines and a circulatory unefficiency, and at thrombophlebitis, cholecystitises.
