AZZ – the medicine relating to group of mucolytic means. Active ingredient of drug – Acetylcysteinum.

Pharmacological action

AZZ promotes fluidifying of a phlegm in respiratory tracts and to its removal, has expectorant action. AZZ is an antidote (the substance capable to neutralize the poisoning effect of poisons and toxins) at poisonings with paracetamol, aldehydes, phenols.

AZZ is well soaked up from digestive tract, the maximum content of drug in blood is observed in 1-3 hours after reception. Linkng of Acetylcysteinum with proteins of plasma makes 50%. Drug with urine and with a stake (insignificant quantity) is removed. Semi-removal time during the normal work of a liver makes 1 hour, at a liver failure is extended till 8 o'clock.

AZZ passes through a placenta and can collect in amniotic waters.

Release form

AZZ 100 and ATsTs 200 are issued in the form of sparkling tablets on 20 pieces in packaging.

AZZ hot drink is issued in the form of powder for preparation of drink on 200 and 600 mg in packaging.

AZZ release longum in the form of sparkling tablets, 600 mg in packaging (10 pieces).

AZZ powder for preparation of solution for internal reception on 100 and 200 mg in packaging.

AZZ children's produce in the form of powder for internal use 30 grams in a bottle on 75 ml and 60 grams in a bottle on 150 ml.

Indications to use of AZZ

Indications to use of AZZ are all diseases and states at which accumulation of a phlegm in respiratory tracts is observed. Treat them:

- bronchitis in an acute and chronic form;

- obstructive bronchitis;

- tracheitis;

- bronchiolitis;

- bronchoectatic disease;

- bronchial asthma;

- sinusitis;

- laryngitis;

- mucoviscidosis;

- exudative otitis of a middle ear.

Route of administration of AZZ and dose

According to the instruction, AZZ apply to treatment of a mucoviscidosis in the following doses:

- for patients with body weight more than 30 kg the daily dose of AZZ makes 800 mg;

- AZZ from 10 in the afternoon and up to 2 years apply lives to children on 50 mg 2-3 times a day;

- AZZ for children from 2 to 5 years appoint 400 mg/days in a dose. The daily dose is divided into four receptions.

- AZZ after six years apply to children in a dose 600 mg which is divided into 3 receptions a day.

The course of treatment of AZZ makes from 3 to 6 months.

According to the instruction, AZZ at other diseases apply according to other scheme.

Use of AZZ for adults and children after 14 years makes from 400 to 600 mg a day.

Use of AZZ for children from 6 to 12 years makes 300-400 mg which divide into 2 receptions a day.

AZZ for children from 2 to 5 years appoint 200-300 mg which needs to be divided into 2 receptions in a daily dose.

From 10 in the afternoon of life and up to 2 years use of AZZ is shown to children in a dose of 50 mg 2-3 times a day.

The course of treatment at the uncomplicated course of a disease makes 5-7 days, in the presence of complications or chronic disease the course of treatment can vary in considerable limits and reach 6 months.

According to the instruction, AZZ needs to be accepted after food. Or a bag (AZZ hot drink or AZZ powder for preparation of solution for oral administration, AZZ children's) to dissolve sparkling tablets (ATsTs 100, ATsTs 200, ATsTs longum) in 100 ml of liquid (tea, juice, water).

By-effects

Use of AZZ can provoke development of such by-effects:

- GIT: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomatitis;

- TsNS: sonitus, headaches;

- Heart and vessels: arrhythmia, increase in arterial pressure.

Contraindications

Contraindications to use of AZZ are:

- hypersensitivity to the AZZ components;

- round ulcer;

- bleeding from lungs;

- intolerance of fructose;

- hepatitis and a renal failure (for children).

Pregnancy and lactation

Purpose of AZZ during incubation and feeding by the child's breast perhaps only according to testimonies of the doctor.

Additional data

With care it is necessary to apply AZZ at stomach ulcer and a duodenum.

It is necessary to prepare with accuracy AZZ solution for patients with bronchial asthma as the drug particles inhaled with air can cause a bronchial spasm.

For more effective mucolytic action (fluidifying and removal of a phlegm) along with administration of drug it is necessary to drink a lot of liquid.

Newborn AZZ appoint in exceptional cases according to the instruction of the doctor.

ATsTs 200 do not recommend to appoint to children up to 2 years.

AZZ do not recommend to appoint longum to children up to 14 years.

Storage conditions

Drug needs to be kept in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature no more than 30 degrees. It is necessary to store ready solution in the refrigerator no more than 12 days.
