About 10-15 years ago existence of the computer in the apartment of the Russian was considered as a rarity and office rooms were only at the first stage of equipment by these useful devices. Today practically in each house there is a computer (and often not one), and a regular user is already every our second compatriot. Convenience and efficiency of personal computers are undoubted, but the people working with them daily have to know also about health hazard which computers can represent.

In risk group on developing of specific "computer" illnesses, office employees forced to spend the whole days in front of personal devices and also the people who are not able to limit themselves in computer games or in communication in network enter (including children and teenagers).   • Disturbances of a bearing, scoliosis, arthroses of cervical and lumbar departments of a backbone, lumbago. These illnesses are a consequence of long sitting in an uncomfortable position. They are shown by a dorsodynia and a neck, constraint of movements. Quite often there are also persuasive headaches;

  • Hemorrhoids, fibrinferments of the lower extremities, disturbances of functions of reproductive system. Computer equipment of offices helps to work quicker and more effectively, than several decades ago. The employee does not need to get up because of a table now or to look for documents in cases: all these actions are replaced with several clicks by the mouse button. According to the conducted researches, most of office workers move at work by 3-4 times today less than earlier. It results in stagnation of blood in a small pelvis and to risk of development of a number of diseases;
  • Problems with sight. First, the person who constantly peers at the monitor too seldom blinks. Because of it mucous membranes of eyes cannot correctly be moistened and dry up. Most of regular users of computers complain of discomfort when blinking, a burning sensation and an itch in eyes. During the long work there are pain and weight over eyebrows. Secondly, the overstrain of eye muscles during the work behind the monitor leads to decrease in visual acuity and development of short-sightedness.

The first models of personal computers were unsafe from the point of view of existence of intensive electromagnetic radiation of screens, perhaps, possessing cancerogenic action. At modern monitors this parameter is significantly reduced, however, according to some specialists, numerous cables and wires, and also system units can constitute danger. However, ability of such radiation to provoke development of malignant new growths is not proved yet.

But the fact that the workplace equipped with the personal computer can become a source of infection with causative organisms is considered real. The surfaces of the keyboard and a mouse quickly become soiled, on them causative agents of various diseases begin to breed.

How to keep health, without refusing work at the computer?

We will be fair: not the fact of existence of personal computers, and non-compliance with rules of work with them is the reason of problems.

To secure itself, the user has to conform to several simple rules:

  • Working at the computer, it is necessary to do breaks every 40-45 minutes. During warm-up it is useful to walk, do several exercises (turns of a trunk, inclinations etc.), to knead and relax hands, to do gymnastics for eyes;
  • The monitor has to be located at distance of 50-60 cm from the face and have such tilt angle that the user saw the image a little from above. It is necessary to adjust illumination of a workplace on the screen there were no patches of light. There is a sense from time to time to use the eye drops possessing the moistening action;
  • Height of a table and seat of a chair is selected according to growth of the user and so that the hands lying on a table were not located at an angle to a forearm. A foot of the person sitting in front of the computer have to lean on a floor completely;
  • It is impossible to put aside randomly lying wires and cables around a workplace. Before making cleaning of the computer of dust, it is necessary to disconnect it from the power supply network;
  • Surfaces of a mouse and the keyboard should be wiped regularly with disinfecting solutions or wet towel wipes.

The special attention needs to be paid to those children who prefer to carry out the most part of day at the computers. Such behavior not only can demonstrate existence game or Internet dependences, but also threatens with a prematurity of the majority of the described diseases. According to specialists, the illnesses connected with use of computers already strongly "rejuvenated": today signs of specific defeats of a musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system and organs of sight are quite often observed at children 14 years are younger. Therefore parents have to do everything possible to interest children in occupations in sports sections or art circles, to distract from computers and to minimize harm which these devices can put to children's health.
