Pharmacological action of Fucidinum
Active component 
of Fucidinum – fuzidovy acid, is the natural antibiotic implemented in medical practice in the early sixties. Fuzidovy acid acts preferential on staphylococcus, including the strains steady against penicillin, erythromycin, streptomycin, levomycetinum, and also on meningokokk, streptococci, gonokokk, pneumococci. The mechanism of antimicrobic action of Fucidinum according to the instruction is connected with bystry suppression of synthesis of protein in a bacterial cell at the level of ribosomes.
Salmonellas, colibacillus, proteas, mushrooms and protozoa are insensitive to Fucidinum.
In combination with gidrokotizony Fucidinum according to the instruction along with antibacterial gains antiinflammatory and antipruritic property.
Release form
Fucidinum is released in a dosage form:
- Cream for external use of 2%, on 15 g in aluminum tubas. One tuba in packaging;
- Ointments for external use of 2%, on 15 g in aluminum tubas. One tuba in packaging; The external
- use cream containing fuzidovy acid and a hydrocortisone on 15 g in aluminum tubas. One tuba in packaging.
Fucidinum analogs on the mechanism of action are Altargo's drugs, the Antiseptic sponge with Kanamycinum, Baktroban, Baneotsin, Gentamitsin, Levomitsetin, Neomitsin, Supirotsin, Fuzimet.
Indications to use of Fucidinum
Fucidinum is applied at the infections caused by bacteria which show sensitivity to effect of fuzidovy acid.
Contraindications
Fucidinum is not appointed at hypersensitivity to active or auxiliary components of medicine.
Fucidinum in combination with a hydrocortisone is not appointed:
- At primary infections of skin which are caused by bacteria, mushrooms or viruses of herpes or chicken pox;
- At skin displays of syphilis;
- In cases of perioral dermatitis;
- In tuberculosis cutis cases;
- At pink eels;
- At hypersensitivity to drug components;
- To children up to two years.
Fucidinum route of administration
Fucidinum is applied 
locally. Cream or ointment are applied on an affected area of skin by three-four times a day within one-two weeks, depending on disease severity.
Recommendations are identical to newborns, to children and adults.
At use of Fucidinum in a combination with a hydrocortisone a way of use the same, however in pediatrics it is allowed for use since two years.

Side effects of Fucidinum
According to reviews Fucidinum can sometimes cause:

- Eczema;
- Irritation of skin;
- Rash;
- Xeroderma;

- Small tortoiseshell;

Storage conditions
Fucidinum is stored in the dark place unavailable to children, at a temperature up to 25 °C. A period of storage – 36 months.
