Гель для наружного применения ИзотрексинIzotreksin – the dermatotropic combined drug for topical administration.

Form of release and structure

Izotreksin release in the form of gel for external use: soft, pale yellow color (on 6, 25, 30, 40 or 50 g in aluminum tubas, on 1 tuba in a cardboard pack).

1 g contain active agents:

  • Izotretinoin – 0,5 mg;
  • Erythromycin – 20 mg.

Auxiliary components: butyl hydroxytoluene, hypro rod, ethanol.

Indications to use

Izotreksin apply to treatment of an acne (acne rash) of easy or average degree of manifestation.

Contraindications

  • Children's age up to 12 years;
  • Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Despite insignificant transdermal absorption of an izotretinoin, use of gel at the established or planned pregnancy is contraindicated.

As it is unknown whether components of funds with breast milk are allocated, it is not necessary to appoint Izotreksin during breastfeeding (lactation).

Route of administration and dosage

Izotreksin apply outwardly.

On an affected area of skin 2 times a day apply a thin film of drug: before morning drawing a make-up and after evening washing.

It is necessary to consider that 6-8 weeks of therapy, in certain cases, can be necessary for full treatment.

Side effects

In a site of application of gel the following dermatological answers are possible: feeling of insignificant irritation, burning and pricking, peeling and erythema. Besides, during treatment increase in sensitivity to action of visible or ultraviolet radiation is possible (photosensitization).

Special instructions

It is necessary to avoid hit of gel on mucous membranes of eyes, a nose and an oral cavity, and also on sites of skin with the ulcerated or damaged surface. With care drug is applied on sensitive body parts – a neck and area of skin around eyes.

Due to the possible development of a photosensitization, it is necessary to minimize long or intended stay in the sun.

In case of side effects which usually appear for 7-14 day of therapy the course should be interrupted for several days. It is recommended to resume treatment after disappearance of signs of irritation. It is necessary to cancel therapy if side effects do not pass.

Medicinal interaction

Izotreksin's use along with other drugs having exfoliative or keratolytic properties including medicines from group of retinoids is not recommended.

Effect of gel weakens a concomitant use of antibiotics of tetracycline group, and topical administration of glucocorticosteroids.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 25 °C.

Period of validity – 2 years.
