Simvastol

Simvastol – medicine for decrease in level of cholesterol and lipids in blood.

Pharmacological action

Active ingredient of Simvastol is симвастатин – the connection received by fermentation of mold fungi of Aspergillus terreus. This chemical blocks one of early stages of synthesis of cholesterol in an organism, namely suppresses the enzyme which is the catalyst of formation of a mevalonat. Promotes lowering of the level of triglycerides, lipoproteins of the low and very low density (LPNP and LPONP) and concentration of cholesterol in a blood plasma. It is characteristic that Simvastol does not lead to formation of potentially toxic sterol. Increases the level of lipoproteins of the high density (LPVP). Promotes optimization of a ratio of LPNP from LPVP and the general cholesterol with LPVP.
