The apophysis is persistent

Apophysis persistent (apophysis persistens; Greek apophysis – a shoot + lat. persistens which - is constantly staying, remaining) – for a long time remaining, not forming a synostosis, additional kernel of ossification in the unusual place (for example, in tuberosity of tibia, a bottom corner of a shovel, front corners of bodies of vertebrae, etc.).
