Hamaturia

Hamaturia (haematuria; Greek haimatos, haima – blood + Greek uron – urine; synonym: a hamaturia true) – existence in urine of erythrocytes or blood.

Types of a hamaturia:

  • Initial (initialis; lat. initialis – initial, belonging to the beginning; synonym: a hamaturia initial) – defined only in the first portion of urine; it is noted at a tumor, an injury or an inflammation of an urethra;
  • Macroscopic (macroscopica; synonym: a gross hematuria) – presence at urine of blood, visible with the naked eye;
  • Renal (renalis) – the most often total, caused by damage of kidneys;
  • Family high-quality (familiaris benigna; synonym: the hamaturia family hereditary) – is noted in the form of the only clinical symptom of hereditary nephrite;
  • Terminal (terminalis; lat. terminalis – final; synonym: a hamaturia final) – revealed only the last portion of urine (at the end of the act of an urination); it is noted against the background of bladder neck diseases;
  • Total (totalis) – defined during all act of an urination; it is observed at diseases of the departments of uric system located above an urethra.
