Vaccination of I

Vaccination of I (vaccinatio; the French vaccination) – a way of formation of active immunity to an infectious disease by means of introduction to an organism of an animal or the person of a vaccine.

Types of vaccination:

  • Aerosol (synonym: vaccination inhalation) – made through mucous membranes of respiratory tracts using an artificial aerosol of the killed or live vaccine;
  • Intradermal (intracutanea) – carried out by means of inoculation (introduction) of a vaccine to thickness of an integument;
  • Intranasal (intranasalis) – at which a vaccine is applied on a mucous membrane of a nasal cavity;
  • Conjunctival (conjunctivalis) – which is carried out by instillation (drop introduction) of a vaccine to a conjunctival sac;
  • Cutaneous (supracutanea) – carried out by means of drawing a vaccine directly on skin with further scarification (limited superficial damage of blankets of skin) by special tools;
  • Peroral (peroralis; lat. per – through + os, oris – a mouth; synonym: vaccination enteral) – carried out through mucous membranes of bodies of digestive tract by means of introduction of a vaccine through a mouth;
  • Hypodermic (subcutanea) – which is made by a subcutaneous injection.
