Betoptik
Application instruction:
Betoptik – the synthetic drug used at treatment of an open angle glaucoma.
Form of release and structure
Betoptik release in the form of 0,5% of eye drops: colourless transparent solution (in plastic bottles droppers of Drop Tainer on 5 ml).
Contains in 1 ml of eye drops:
- Active agent: бетаксолол – 5 mg;
- Excipients: solution of chlorohydrogen acid and/or sodium of hydroxide, a benzalkoniya chloride, the water purified.
Indications to use
Betoptik appoint for decrease in intraocular pressure for treatment of the following diseases:
- Eye hypertensia;
- Open angle glaucoma.
Drug is used as monotherapy or along with other medicines.
Betoptik can be used for treatment of an open angle glaucoma or eye hypertensia at patients with diseases of respiratory system.
Contraindications
Betoptik's use is contraindicated at hypersensitivity to the components which are a part of medicine.
Drug is appointed with care in the presence of such diseases as:
- Myasthenia;
- Cardiogenic shock;
- Sinus bradycardia;
- The expressed heart failure;
- AV blockade of II and III degrees;
- Diabetes mellitus.
The question of a possibility of use of Betoptik by the feeding and pregnant women is solved individually the doctor after ratio assessment "advantage risk" for health of the woman and a child/fruit.
Route of administration and dosage
Betoptik it is necessary to dig in in a conjunctival sac 1-2 drops twice a day.
Within a month from the moment of the beginning of use of drug it is recommended to carry out control of intraocular pressure as at many patients stabilization of intraocular pressure happens in the first weeks of treatment.
At insufficient clinical effect the doctor can appoint additional therapy.
Side effects
At Betoptik's use most often there is dacryagogue and short-term discomfort in eyes. Also during treatment development of the following disturbances is possible:
- Organ of sight: itch, reddening of eyes, decrease in sensitivity of a cornea, photophobia, dot keratitis, photophobia, anisocoria, xerophthalmus;
- Central nervous system: depressive neurosises, sleeplessness.
Special instructions
As Betoptik can be soaked up in a system blood stream, during treatment development of the same side effects is possible, as well as at system use, including respiratory and cardiovascular frustration.
In spite of the fact that Betoptik minimum influences the arterial pressure and heart rate, its use needs to be stopped immediately at emergence of the first symptoms of a decompensation from cardiovascular system.
It is necessary to be careful at simultaneous use of Betoptik with adrenergic psychotropic drugs.
In cases when after a drug instillation at patients sight clearness temporarily decreases, until its recovery it is necessary to abstain from driving.

Terms and storage conditions
Drug is released according to the recipe of the doctor (list B.).
Period of validity – 3 years at a temperature of 8-30 °C.
After opening of a bottle medicine needs to be used within 1 month.
