Tsiteal

Tsiteal – antiseptic foam-forming agent. Three operating components are a part of this drug: хлоргексидин (a cationic antiseptic agent of a class of guanyl guanidines), chlorcresol (an antiseptic agent of a class of the halogenated phenols), a hexamidine (a cationic antiseptic agent of a class of diamidines). Drug Tsiteal possesses the expressed bacteriostatic, fungicidal, antimecotic action. Also some antipruritic action is peculiar to Tsiteal.

Tsiteal has activity concerning a row gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus spp.) and gram-negative (Proteus, E.Coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Gardnerella vaginalis) bacteria, besides - Candida albigans, Trichomonas vaginalis, Microsorum canis, Trichophyton rubrum. In vitro is noted virostatichesky action of Tsiteal concerning viruses of a herpes simplex of both types. Activity of drug remains in the presence of biological substances: blood, pus, serous liquid.

Antiseptic action of Tsiteal proceeds for 18 hours after its disposable. At Tsiteal's use coloring or irritation of skin and mucous, and also change of pH of a vagina and skin is noted.

Indications to Tsiteal's use

According to the instruction Tsiteal is applied at infectious damages of skin and mucous which are caused by microorganisms, sensitive to this means, in particular:

• vulvitis, cervicitis, vaginitis, for prevention of sexually transmitted infections;
• mycosis, eczema, acne, intertrigo, bacterial dermatosis, ulcers;
• Tsiteal's use as prophylactic at the increased risk of development of superinfections is possible.

Tsiteal is applied also to processing of hands of medical personnel.

Contraindications to Tsiteal's use

According to the instruction Tsiteal is contraindicated at individual intolerance of the substances which are a part of drug.

Contraindicated topical administration of Tsiteal in ophthalmology, and also for processing of outside acoustical pass in cases of perforation of a tympanic membrane. The contact of this drug with a meninx is inadmissible.

Tsiteal is not intended for use as means for processing of skin before holding invasive procedures, including injections and a spinal puncture, is not used for disinfection of medical tools.

With care it is necessary to apply Tsiteal at damage of integuments, and also in need of processing of rather big surface of skin or the subsequent imposing of an occlusive bandage as in these situations system absorption of drug considerably increases.

Side effects

Reviews of Tsiteala from patients speak about quite good tolerance of this drug, emergence of local reactions was in rare instances noted: xeroderma, itch, burning, hyperemia. The probability of development of such effects increases at repeated use of drug. Also development of allergic reactions in the form of contact dermatitis was noted. In case of Tsiteal's use at the broken integrity of skin there is a risk of emergence of system allergic reactions on being a part of drug хлоргексидин, namely - an acute anaphylaxis.

Route of administration

In the instruction to Tsiteal it is specified that this drug is intended only for topical external use. Other ways of its use (peroral, parenteral) are inadmissible.

Tsiteal can be used in integral or divorced (usually 1:10) a look. After use of this drug the processed site of skin needs to be washed out plentifully flowing water. Drug after cultivation should not be stored as there is a danger of bacterial pollution of medicine. The treatment duration, frequency of use and Tsiteal's concentration in each separate situation are determined by the doctor.

Tsiteal's use during pregnancy

Drug Tsiteal can be used at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation, but exclusively on doctor's orders.

It is contraindicated to combine Tsiteal's use with other means for processing of skin and mucous, even with soap. At interaction of drug to anion antiseptic agents there is its inactivation.

Overdose

When using Tsiteala according to the instruction (outwardly) the overdose is impossible. At an accidental proglatyvaniye of drug it is necessary to call the ambulance immediately. The gastric lavage in this situation is not carried out as drug forms foam.
