Dayvobet

Dayvobet – the combined drug with antiinflammatory, anti-proliferative, vasopressor, antipruritic and immunosuppressive action applied to treatment of psoriasis.

Form of release and structure

Dosage form – ointment for external use: homogeneous, from almost white till pale yellow color (on 15 g, 30 g, 60 g in aluminum or polyethylene tubas, 1 tuba in a cardboard pack).

Active ingredients in 1 gram of ointment:

• Betamethasone Dipropionas – 643 mkg that is equivalent to 500 mkg of betamethasone;
• Kaltsipotriola monohydrate – 52 mkg that is equivalent to 50 mkg of a kaltsipotriol.

Additional substances: paraffin white soft, polyoxypropylene-15-stearyl ether, liquid paraffin, α-tocopherol..........

Indications to use

Dayvobet – drug for treatment of chronic vulgar blyashechny psoriasis.

Contraindications

• Psoriasis erythrosis;
• Pustular, exfoliative and tear-shaped psoriasis;
• Infections of skin virus (including chicken pox and herpes), a bacterial, fungal, parasitic etiology;
• Atrophy and ulcers of skin;
• Rozatsea;
• Perioral dermatitis;
• Pink and vulgar eels;
• Skin displays of tuberculosis and syphilis;
• Ichthyosis;
• The increased fragility of vessels of skin;
• Perianal and genital itch;
• The expressed renal/liver failure;
• The diseases which are followed by calcium metabolism disturbance;
• Age up to 18 years;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Safety of use of Dayvobet during pregnancy and a lactation is not established therefore during these periods the doctor can appoint drug only if, in his opinion, the expected advantage surpasses potential risks.

Route of administration and dosage

To Dayvobet it is intended for external use: ointment should be applied a thin layer on affected areas of skin of 1 times a day.

The maximum daily dose should not exceed 15 g, week – 100 g. Processing no more than 30% of a body surface is allowed.

Duration of treatment makes 4 weeks. If necessary the doctor can appoint repeated courses.

Side effects

Dayvobet can cause the following side effects from skin and its appendages: often – rash, an itch, a burning sensation; infrequently – an exacerbation of psoriasis, irritation, pain, an erythema, dermatitis, a folliculitis, disturbance of pigmentation in the place of application of ointment; seldom – pustular psoriasis.

Kaltsipotriol – the second active agent of drug – can cause an acute pain, local irritation, burning, an itch and a xeroderma, rash, an erythema, eczema, dermatitis, an exacerbation of psoriasis.

Prolonged topical use of betamethasone can lead to development of a depigmentation, allergic contact dermatitis, a colloid degeneration of skin, a folliculitis, striya, a hypertrichosis, teleangiectasias, perioral dermatitis, an atrophy of skin, generalized pustular psoriasis, reaction hyper - and photosensitivity, including separate cases of a face edema and a Quincke's disease.

Possible system reactions:

• Caused kaltsipotrioly: hypercalcemia, hypercalcuria;
• Caused by betamethasone: infections, a cataract, increase in intraocular pressure, suppression of function of bark of adrenal glands (these side effects arise extremely seldom, but are sometimes characterized by a heavy current, especially at use of ointment on extensive sites of skin, under occlusive bandages or for a long time).

Special instructions

It is not recommended to apply Dayvobet on a pilar part of the head, mucous membranes and face skin, and also to use under an occlusive bandage, to apply in folds and on extensive sites of skin (more than 30% of all body surface).

After use it is necessary to wash hands carefully.

At exceeding of the recommended doses development of a hypercalcemia which quickly passes after a dose decline or drug withdrawal is possible.

As betamethasone is a strong glucocorticosteroid, during treatment it is not necessary to use other drugs from the same group.

In case of a psoriasis complication it is necessary to carry out by consecutive infection the corresponding antibacterial therapy. If the infection is aggravated, Dayvobet needs to cancel.

During treatment it is necessary to avoid excessive impact of a sunlight (both natural, and artificial). Simultaneous use of ultraviolet rays is possible only in case of need if the expected advantage exceeds potential risks.

Drug does not render a negative impact on attention and speed of reactions.

Information on Dayvobet's interaction with other medicines is absent.

Terms and storage conditions

To store at a temperature not above 25 °C in the place unavailable to children.

Period of validity – 2 years, after the first opening of a tuba – 3 months.
