Fevarin

Fevarin – the drug from group of antidepressants selectively inhibiting the return serotonin reuptake. Active ingredient – флувоксамин – selectively blocks serotonin reuptake by brain neurons. Fevarin practically does not influence processes of exchange of noradrenaline, has weak affinity to adrenoceptors, serotoninovy, dopamine, histamine and to holinoretseptor. At oral administration Fevarin is well absorbed in a GIT. Has effect of the first passing through a liver. Bioavailability – 53%. Route of administration, dosage

Fevarin is intended for oral administration. It is necessary to swallow of a tablet entirely, without crushing. The maximum daily dosage – 300 mg. The daily dose is usually appointed to one reception. Drug is recommended to be accepted in the evening, in need of division of a dose – in the morning and in the evening. The dosage and duration of a course of therapy in each separate case are defined by the doctor.

The average daily dosage at therapy of a depression at adult patients makes 50-100mg. At insufficient therapeutic effect the dosage is increased gradually. At achievement of clinical effect for prevention of a recurrence not less than half a year is recommended to continue treatment.

Fevarin's dosage for prevention of a recurrence at treatment of depressive frustration makes 100 mg.

The dosage at treatment of obsessivno-compulsive frustration makes 50 mg. At insufficient effect the dosage is increased 2-3 days later. The maximum dosage at this pathology also makes 300 mg.

The daily dosage of Fevarin for children of 8-18 years makes 25 mg. At insufficient clinical effect increase in the specified dosage in 2-3 days is possible. The maximum daily dosage – 200 mg. In the absence of effect in 10 weeks drug needs to be cancelled.

According to the instruction, Fevarin at pathology of a liver it is necessary to appoint in the minimum clinically effective dosage. At increase in a dosage within several days the patient has to be under medical observation.

Contraindications to Fevarin's use

In the instruction to Fevarin the following contraindications are specified:

• the increased individual sensitivity to a fluvoksamin;
• simultaneous treatment by monoaminooxidase inhibitors, tizanidiny;
• alcoholism;
• age up to 8 years in view of lack of sufficient experience of use of Fevarin in this age category;
• heavy pathology of kidneys and liver, epilepsy, tendency to bleedings.

Side effects of Fevarin

At Fevarin's reception and analogs emergence of the hyponatremia passing after drug withdrawal is possible.

Development of a serotoninovy syndrome was extremely seldom noted (muscle tension, fervescence, changes in mentality, a coma, lability of the autonomic nervous system).

For prevention of side effects Fevarin it is necessary to accept under medical control and only to destination the attending physician.

Fevarin's use during pregnancy

There is no enough data on influence of drug on a fruit. In cases when the expected advantage for mother significantly exceeds possible risks for a fruit, Fevarin can be appointed at pregnancy. At therapy by Fevarin in ІІІ a trimester of pregnancy careful control of a condition of the newborn, in view of risk of development of a withdrawal is necessary.

Fevarin's interaction with other drugs

Simultaneous use of Fevarin and hypoglycemic drugs demands correction of a dosage of the last.

Fevarin's reception and analogs along with MAO inhibitors is contraindicated.

Drug changes pharmacokinetics of a terfenadin, tsizaprid, astemizol, theophylline, a meksiletin, methadone, carbamazepine, Phenytoinum.

Fevarin increases concentration in blood of caffeine, warfarin, propranolol, midazolam, a ropinirol, diazepam.

Fevarin's combination to ethanol is contraindicated.

Overdose

At Fevarin's overdose there are symptoms of pathology of a GIT, CCC, nervous systems: vomiting, nausea, weakness, sleep disorder, decrease in the ABP, disturbance of a heart rhythm, spasm, liver failure. There is no specific antidote. It is recommended to wash out a stomach, to accept enterosorbents and to carry out a symptomatic treatment. The hemodialysis, an artificial diuresis at Fevarin's overdose are not effective.
