Enterofuril

Enterofuril – medicine from group of antimicrobic drugs of a broad spectrum of activity. Drug does not possess systemic action, is appointed for treatment of infectious diarrhea. Active ingredient – нифуроксазид, derivative 5 nitrofurans. Enterofuril has bactericidal, bacteriostatic effect, is active concerning many causative agents of infections of a GIT. The antimicrobic effect of drug is dozozavisimy, at the same time low, average doses have bacteriostatic action, high – bactericidal.

Bacteriostatic action of Enterofuril is connected with inhibition of activity of a dehydrogenase, at the same time biosynthesis of necessary connections in a bacterial cell is broken. The respiratory chain is as a result blocked, the cycle of tricarboxylic acids is oppressed, and the bacterial cell loses ability to breed.

Bactericidal action of Enterofuril is caused by ability of high dosages of drug to influence destructively a membrane of cells of bacteria. Disturbance of integrity of a cellular membrane is resulted by death of a bacterium.

Also Enterofuril is capable to oppress products of exotoxins pathogenic bacteriums therefore the irritation of cells of an intestinal epithelium decreases and products of liquid in a GIT gleam decrease.

Due to increase in phagocytal activity Enterofuril activates system of immunity.

Drug has no the oppressing effect concerning nonpathogenic flora in this connection at its use there is no dysbacteriosis.

After oral administration Enterofuril is not absorbed in a GIT, there is no system effect. In intestines high concentration of drug is created. Enterofuril is brought with a stake.

• according to indications Enterofuril can be appointed at diarrhea of not specified etiology.

Contraindications to Enterofuril's use

According to the instruction to Enterofuril, this drug is contraindicated at hypersensitivity to a nifuroksazid or other derivatives of nitrofurans, at children's age (up to 1 month). Drug is not used for treatment of premature children, in the encapsulated form – aged up to 7 years.

Route of administration, dosage

For treatment of patients 7 years are more senior Enterofuril in the form of capsules and suspension is applied. Up to 7 years it is recommended to use Enterofuril's suspension. The therapy duration, and also a dosage in a specific clinical situation is determined by the doctor.

Enterofuril's dosage for adult patients makes 200 mg (contain in one measured spoon) four times a day. Maximum daily dosage of 800 mg. The recommended course of treatment makes 7 days.

At patients at the age of 2-7 years the dosage makes 200 mg (a measured spoon) three times a day. The maximum daily dosage – 600 mg. Therapy duration – no more than a week.

Patients of age have 7 months – 2 years the dosage makes 100 mg (contain in half of measured spoon) three times a day. The maximum daily dosage – 400 mg. Enterofurila should not exceed use duration 7 days.

At children from 1 to 7 months the dosage makes 100 mg twice a day.

Enterofuril is applied irrespective of a diet. It is necessary to swallow of the capsule entirely, to wash down with the large volume of water. It is not recommended to divide the capsule. Suspension needs to be shaken up carefully before use. For convenience it is recommended to use the enclosed measured spoon.

Side effect

Drug is usually rather well transferred what reviews of Enterofurila from patients testify to. In isolated cases emergence of allergic reaction in the form of a small tortoiseshell was noted.

Enterofuril's use at pregnancy

According to strict indications Enterofuril can be appointed at pregnancy, but only in situations when the expected advantage for a maternal organism considerably exceeds potential threat for a fruit. There are no data on a negative impact of Enterofuril on a fruit now. Enterofuril does not get into breast milk, therefore, can be appointed at a lactation.

Enterofuril's interaction with other drugs

Due to the lack of absorption Enterofuril's interaction with other drugs is improbable. However use of drug with the medicines containing alcohol is not recommended. It is impossible to apply Enterofuril along with sorbents, in this case its efficiency decreases.

Overdose

There are no data on Enterofuril's overdose. At accidental reception of very high doses of drug nonspecific therapy is recommended: gastric lavage, enterosorbents orally.
