Nazol
Application instruction:
Nazol – means with vasoconstrictive effect for topical administration in otolaryngology.
Form of release and structure
Dosage form – spray of nasal 0,05%: inodorous colourless transparent solution (on 15 or 30 ml in plastic bottles with the sprayer, in a cardboard pack 1 bottle).
Active ingredient of Nazol – oxymetazoline a hydrochloride, in 1 ml – 0,5 mg.
Auxiliary components: benzyl alcohol, 50% solution a benzalkoniya of chloride, dinatrium эдетат, povidone, sodium hydrophosphate, propylene glycol, sodium dihydrophosphate, a macrogoal 400, the water purified.
Indications to use
Use of drug is shown for simplification of nasal breath:
- Viral infections and catarrhal diseases of upper respiratory tracts;
- Rhinitis and sinusitis of any genesis.
Contraindications
- Atrophic rhinitis;
- Age up to 6 years;
- Period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
With care Nazol the patient with arterial hypertension, chronic heart failure, coronary heart disease, tachycardia, arrhythmia, a diabetes mellitus, a pheochromocytoma, closed-angle glaucoma, dysfunction of a thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism), a chronic renal failure, a hyperplasia of a prostate is recommended to apply and at simultaneous treatment by tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO).
Route of administration and dosage
Spray is applied intranazalno, injecting into each nasal course no more than 2 times a day.
The recommended dosing:
- Patients are more senior than 12 years: 2-3 injections;
- Children aged from 6 up to 12 years: 1 injection.
Treatment duration – no more than 3 days.
More frequent or long use of drug can cause a palindromia or deterioration in nasal breath. In this case it is necessary to stop therapy and to get advice of the doctor.
It is impossible to inject drug, having thrown back the head back or in a prone position.
Side effects
- Sometimes: dryness or burning of mucous membranes of a nose, sneezing, dryness in an oral cavity and a throat, increase in volume of the allocated secret from a nose;
- In rare instances: a reactive hyperemia, feeling of a strong congestion of a nose after the termination of effect of drug;
- Perhaps: against the background of more than 7 days of use of drug – a reactive hyperemia and/or a mucosal atrophy of a nose, a tachyphylaxis;
- Side effects of system character: nausea, a headache, heartbeat, increase in the arterial pressure (AP), dizziness, the increased uneasiness, sleeplessness.
Special instructions
Drug use is allowed more than 3 days only according to the recommendation of the attending physician.
Not to allow hit of spray in eyes.
The bottle with drug is intended for individual use, otherwise the risk of spread of an infection appears.
Medicinal interaction
In case of simultaneous use with tricyclic antidepressants and MAO inhibitors or during the first 14 days after cancellation of the last increase in the ABP is possible.
Nazol extends effect of mestnoanesteziruyushchy drugs, slows down their absorption.
The probability of development of side effects increases at a spray combination to other vasoconstrictors.
