Penzital
Application instruction:
Penzital – the fermental means compensating insufficiency of vneshnesekretorny function of a pancreas.
Form of release and structure
Dosage form – the tablets covered with a kishechnorastvorimy film cover: a round form, convex from two parties, white color (on 10 pieces in strips, in a box of cardboard from 1 to 12 strips).
Active ingredient of drug – Pancreatinum, its contents in 1 tablet makes 212,5 mg that corresponds to enzymatic activity:
- Lipase – 6000 PIECES of FIP;
- Amylase – 4500 PIECES of FIP;
- Proteases – 300 PIECES of FIP.
Additional components: starch sodium glycollate, microcrystallic cellulose, povidone, titanium dioxide, copolymer of methacrylic acid, silicon dioxide colloid, diethyl phthalate, talc, lactose.
Indications to use
- Disturbances of digestion of food (including at states after a resection of a stomach or a small bowel);
- Vneshnesekretorny insufficiency of a pancreas (diarrhea of noninfectious genesis, a meteorism, dyspepsia, a mucoviscidosis, a gastrocardial syndrome, chronic pancreatitis, states after radiation and a pancreatectomy) – as replacement therapy;
- Long immobilization, disturbances of chewing function, an error in food (irregular food, the use of greasy food, reception of a large number of food) at people with normally functioning digestive tract – for improvement of digestion of food;
- Research (ultrasonic or radiological) an abdominal cavity – for preparation of bodies of digestive tract.
Contraindications
Absolute:
- Exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis;
- Acute pancreatitis;
- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
Route of administration and dosage
Penzital it is necessary to accept inside during meal or right after food: to swallow of tablets entirely and to wash down with enough not alkaline liquid (water or fruit juice).
The doctor defines a dose for each patient individually depending on extent of digestive disturbance.
The adult usually appoint 1-2 tablets 3 times a day.
Treatment duration is also established in a private order, it can vary ranging from several days (at errors in food) up to several months and even years (when performing continuous replacement therapy).
Side effects
- From the alimentary system: nausea, lock/diarrhea, a sensation of discomfort in a stomach (however relationship of cause and effect of development of these effects using Penzital is not proved as the specified reactions are also symptoms of vneshnesekretorny insufficiency of a pancreas);
- From a metabolism: at prolonged use of drug in high doses – a hyper uricosuria, a hyperuricemia;
- Others: allergic reactions.
At patients with a mucoviscidosis at exceeding of the recommended doses development of a fibrous colonopathy (strictures) in ileocecal department of the ascending colon is possible.
At children at reception of high doses of Pancreatinum the irritation of a mucous membrane of an oral cavity and development of perianal irritation is possible.
Special instructions
The appointed dose of drug has to correspond to the amount of enzymes necessary for ensuring absorption of fats. At the same time surely it is necessary to consider quality and amount of the consumed food.
When performing long therapy it is at the same time recommended to accept iron preparations.
Patients with a mucoviscidosis have a risk of development of a fibrous colonopathy therefore it does not recommend to apply Penzital in high doses.
Medicinal interaction
The antacids containing magnesium hydroxide and/or calcium a carbonate reduce efficiency of Pancreatinum.
Penzital can reduce absorption of iron preparations.
Terms and storage conditions
To store at a temperature of 2-25 ºС in the place, dry, unavailable to children.
