Prostakor
Application instruction:
Prostakor – drug of animal origin for treatment of diseases of a prostate.
Form of release and structure
- Solution for intramuscular introduction: light yellow color, possesses a specific smell (in ampoules on 1 ml, in a pack of cardboard 10 ampoules; in ampoules on 1 ml, on 5 ampoules in blister strip packagings, in a pack cardboard 1 or 2 packagings);
- Lyophilisate for preparation of solution for intramuscular introduction: white or yellow-white color (in ampoules, in a pack of cardboard 10 ampoules or 2 blister strip packagings on 5 ampoules).
Active agent of drug: a prostakor (prostate extract, water-soluble peptides), in 1 ampoule of solution and 1 ampoule of lyophilisate – on 5 mg.
Solution excipients: a maltose monohydrate and water for injections.
Additional component of lyophilisate: glycine.
Indications to use
Prostakor – drug for treatment of chronic prostatitis and complications after prostate gland operation.
Contraindications
Drug is contraindicated to the patients who did not reach age of 18 years and also with individual hypersensitivity to components.
Route of administration and dosage
Prostakor is intended for intramuscular introduction.
Lyophilisate just before introduction is diluted by 1 ml of solution of sodium of chloride of 0,9%, solution of novocaine of 0,25-0,5% or injection water.
To adult patients appoint 5-10 mg of 1 times a day a course of 5-10 days.
If there is a need, after a break (from 1 to 6 months) carry out a repeated course of treatment.
Side effects
Allergic reactions are possible.
Special instructions
Prostakor in the form of solution for injections contains a maltose – it can influence results of blood tests and urine on the content of glucose.
Medicinal interaction
Cases of clinically significant interactions of use of Prostakor with other medicinal substances / means were not registered.

To store in the unavailable to children, protected from light place.
Period of validity:
- Solution – 2 years at a temperature of 4-8 ºС;
- Lyophilisate – 3 years at a temperature of 2-10 ºС.
